9ICE ON CONNECT360 ON NIGEZIE TV SHED LIGHT ON A LOT OF THINGS THAT WAS ASKED HIM IN THE EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW.

9ice is a legendary Nigerian artiste who has been in the music scene for over 10 years, Few can boast of his achievements which includes dreams of winning a Grammy.  9ice opened up on a lot of issues and here are the excerpts.

He was asked, What are those things in the industry then that are not present now? He responded saying, “10 years ago when i was starting in the industry, there were so many things that were there then and are not there now, one of those things is LOYALTY. Now we don’t have people who want to play your song because your song is good, we still have a few those people (referring to loyalists), but we have many people who want to play your song now because they know they can make money off playing your song or off promoting your song. Fine, music is business, but back in the day,   people just want to play your song because they know that song is credible and good, whether you give them a dime or not. So loyalty is not in the industry anymore. Now it is all about how much you can pay and how much connect you have and how much i can push it on your platform.  Another thing that is not there before and is there now is – Investors. Those days we don’t have people who want to invest in the music industry but now, even your father and mother wants to invest in your music.

When Asked What he missed most about the industry? “I miss a live band show the place is packed up now” he said.

He was later asked if it true that any artiste that cannot perform with a live band is not a real artist?
I do not believe there is any artiste that cannot perform with live band and if there is any artiste that cannot perform with live band then yo still have more to do. Live band as a musician is the highest stage.

What has sustained your music till now?
My originality. There are lots of people with better voice but i am original and a stayed true to my style.
