The remix outshined tracks like Ayra Starr’s ‘Rush’, Oxlade’s ‘Ku Lo Sa’, Libianca’s ‘People’, and Victony’s ‘Soweto’ with Rema and Don Toliver. While Rema’s ‘Calm Down’ remix secured victory in its category, it faced tough competition in other categories such as Top Billboard Collaboration, Top Billboard Excl. U.S. Song, Top Billboard Global 200 Song, and Top Radio Song, where it did not emerge victorious. On the broader winners’ list, American singer Morgan Wallen led with an impressive 11 awards, closely followed by Taylor Swift, who secured 10 wins.

Talented Afrobeats musician, Divine ‘Rema‘ Ikubor has opined that he has earned himself a lot of recognition to be in the Afrobeats Hall of Fame, even if he decides to quit music today. The singer who recently performed at the 2023 Ballon D’Or noted that he is considering leaving music at the moment, but his current status has already inked his name in the Afrobeats Bible.

But if I say I want to stop right now, my name is still going to be on the Afrobeats bible, if there is an Afrobeats bible to be dropped. I’ll literally be in the New Testament, on the front page.” The young musician also recalled how he had been ridiculed by fans people because of his soundtrack which had Bollywood lilt to it when he gained prominence in 2019. “Everything they doubted, everything they laughed at me for, I built on it. They called me Indian Boy; I went to India. I’m the first artist to shut down four cities in India, 5000 capacity and above. No one can deny that I’ve impacted Afrobeats on a global scale,” he added.

In the week of February 23rd, 2023, the remix of ‘Calm Down’ featuring Selena Gomez enters the chart at No. 25, two spots higher than its previous position of No. 27. This is the 27th week for ‘Calm Down‘ on the chart, and it is now the second-highest-charting Afrobeats song after Wizkid’s ‘Essence’, which reached No. 9 following the success of the Justin Bieber remix. Tems also appears on the chart with Future’s ‘Wait For U’, which maintains its position at No. 36 and has been on the chart for 39 weeks.
