UTME: Anambra govt panel reveals how Mmesoma confessed

Miss Mmesoma Ejikeme The committee which interacted with Ejikeme Mmesoma, authorities of her school, and JAMB in its findings deposed that the result paraded by Ejikeme Mmesoma with an aggregate score of 362 was fake and that she admitted manipulating the results by herself using her phone. “She owned up in the presence of her principal, and the Education Secretary that the narration by the JAMB officials was a true and correct description of what transpired. She also admitted to having given a manipulated result by herself, unaided using the same phone (and) Airtel Number. “According to her, she proceeded to the cybercafe (Prisca Global Computers, Uruagu, Nnewi) where she printed the results she had manipulated.” “The committee tried to find out the motive behind her actions, but Ejikeme Joy Mmesoma said NOTHING.” Ejikeme Mmesoma had put the reputation of JAMB in suspense after she claimed to have scored 362 and been the highest-scoring candidate in the 2023 UTME. Following the controversy the Anambra State Government set up a committee comprising of Prof. Nkemdili Nnonyelu as Chairman, other members are Prof. Mercy Okonkwo, Prof. Ngozi Chuma-Udeh, Prof. Maduabuchi Dukor, Prof. Jaja Nwanegbo, Rev. The suspect A resident of the area, who pleaded anonymity, said the suspect (Nwosu) had gone to live with the policewoman shortly after she became homeless and in dire need of accommodation following her divorce from her husband. “As soon as the husband divorced her, she confided in the policewoman who benevolently offered her accommodation in her apartment. “On that fateful day, she quarrelled with the policewoman which led to a fight. She hit the policewoman on the head with a pestle and she fell and became unconscious. “She quickly tied the policewoman and her two kids together with a rope inside their room and set them ablaze together with the building,” he said. It was gathered that the suspect was apprehended by local vigilante and some villagers who were attracted by the fire, while she was trying to escape. When the vigilante interrogated her, she initially denied the act, claiming it was a case of gas explosion while the deceased and her children were boiling water. Nwosu later confessed to the crime, attributing it to handiwork of the devil. “I did not know what came over me that made me commit the crime. I deserve to be shot dead for this wicked act against the person who helped me in my time of need,” she said. Confirming the incident, the Anambra State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, said that the suspect had been arrested and the bodies of the policewoman and her children deposited in the mortuary. Ikenga said that the case had been transferred to the State Investigation Department (CID) for further investigation and prosecution. He said, “Preliminary information reveals that the policewoman accommodated the suspect while she was searching for a house. “The two women had a disagreement which resulted in a fight before the suspect hit the woman police on her head with a pestle. “While she became unconscious, she tied her with her two kids and set them ablaze. The bodies of the victims have been recovered and deposited in the morgue. Further development shall be communicated,” Ikenga promised.

Anambra student with best UTME score faked results — JAMB

After receiving N3M scholarship for scoring the highest in the 2023 UTME exam in Anambra, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB confirms that the student faked her result. Ejikeme Mmesoma is accused of deliberately faking her score and falsely claiming to be the highest scorer in the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination.

Anambra student celebrated for having highest UTME score faked results — JAMB Ejikeme Mmesoma

Miss Ejikeme Mmesoma In a statement released by the board on Sunday, it was revealed that Ejikeme manipulated her score in order to secure a N3 million scholarship from Innoson Motors. She was also scheduled to receive recognition from the Anambra State government until now that her deceit was uncovered. The statement reads in part; “The attention of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has been drawn to several publications in both print and online media celebrating certain candidates for being high scorers in the 2023 UTME. “The Board is constrained to set the records straight and wishes to state unequivocally that many of the results which many of these candidates are parading are fake. In many instances, some of these candidates had actually obtained far lower scores than they are claiming and had used some funny software packages to manipulate their results to deceive unsuspecting members of the public. “The most pathetic of them all is the case of Miss Ejikeme Joy Mmesoma, who claimed to have scored 362 in the 2023 UTME and was awarded a N3m scholarship by Chief (Dr.) Innocent Chukwuma. She was even set to be honoured by the Anambra State Government when one of its top officials put a call through to JAMB to confirm her claim, only for the Board to reveal that Miss Ejikeme Joy Mmesoma had actually scored 249 and not the 362 she claimed. She had manipulated her UTME result to deceive the public to fraudulently obtain scholarships and other recognitions.” The statement further noted that the board is aware of another instance of fraudulent behaviour involving a candidate who falsely asserted to have obtained an aggregate score of 380 in the 2023 UTME. Punishment for highest scoring Anambra UTME student, others who faked UTME result “We commended the likes of Dr. Innocent Chukwuma and wish to encourage other Nigerians, who desire to invest in the future of genuine youngsters, never to be discouraged but to always ensure that they get the authentic results from the Board as done by the Anambra State Ministry of Education; otherwise they will be celebrating criminality as this is just another new fraudulent method in town. “However, these candidates only succeed in manipulating what they are holding, as the authentic results are with the Board and would be transmitted to their schools of choice at the appropriate time. “It is to be noted that Miss Mmesoma had sent a message to the Board’s platform to request her UTME result, after which she manually inflated her scores and pasted same on the 2022 UTME result sheet. Unknown to her, the Board had changed the design of the 2023 UTME result sheet. Her original result remains 249, as nothing can change that. With this her ignoble act, Miss Mmesoma would be prosecuted and her original result withdrawn. This is not all, as the Board would, in due course, investigate all candidates laying claims to higher scores than they actually obtained. Once discovered, such candidates’ original results would be withdrawn forthwith, and they would be handed over to relevant security agencies for prosecution.”
