The Federal Government (FG) has declared Friday, April 21, and Monday, April 24, 2023 as public holidays to celebrate Eid-al-Fitr. Minister-of-Interior-Ogbeni-Rauf-Aregbesola Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, the Minister for Interior made this announcement in a statement  on behalf of the Federal Government (FG) signed by the Permanent Secretary, Dr Shuaib Belgore. Aregbesola urged all Muslims to practice the virtues of kindness, love, tolerance, peace, self-denial, sacrifice and good neighbourliness while congratulating them on the successful completion of the holy month of Ramadan. “The self-restrain, self-denial, sacrifice and deep spiritual consciousness that accompanied the fasting period should not end but be maintained and improved upon, in order to be a better person and true worshipper”, the minister advised Muslims. The Minister commended all security agencies while assuring the government’s commitment to providing security for the life and property of every citizen in the country. “Aregbesola wishes all Muslims a happy Eidil-Fitr celebration and prays that the peace, blessings and favour of Allah be with you all,” the statement said.

Aregbesola, in a statement signed by the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Shuaib Begore, urged Christians to emulate the virtues of sacrifice, togetherness, forgiveness, kindness, love, peace, and patience which were attributes and practices of Jesus Christ, as exemplified by His ministry on the earth. The Minister called on Christians and all Nigerians to use the occasion of this year’s Easter celebrations to pray for an end to the security challenges in parts of the country. “Security is everybody’s business. I, therefore, urge Nigerians and foreigners resident in our country to display a high sense of citizenship and public spiritedness by supporting the efforts of all security agencies in bringing peace and security of lives and property of the citizenry,” he noted.

A Twitter user identified as @StephAdamu, said to be a friend to late Dr Chinelo; the lady who was shot dead by bandits during an attack on an Abuja-Kaduna train yesterday has revealed the plans she had before the sudden demise.Dr Chinelo train attack

According to the netizen, Chinelo was working at St Gerald hospital in Kaduna, however, she resigned last month and finished processing papers to leave the country.
She was scheduled to leave on Friday, 1st April before her dreams were forcefully cut short by death.
Reports revealed that the bandits bombed the train conveying 970 passengers.
