The popular money doubling scheme was the rage around 2016 and 2017 and the NDIC reported that three million Nigerians lost 18 billion Naira to the corporation. Many of the victims were left wretched and one of the participants of the scheme, Ada Kole, committed suicide after losing 750,000 Naira to them shortly before his wedding. The Mavrodi Mondial Moneybox (MMM) was shut down in 2018 following the death of its founder, Henry Mavrodi from a heart attack. The company is now trying to make a comeback as MMM Krypto, and they had a recent meeting on December 2, 2023, in Durban, South Africa. See post below
