Mayorkun Wins 2016 Rookie Of The Year Award

The Headies Secretariat today announced DMW artiste and Love You Tire crooner as Winner of the 2016 Rookie of the Year Category of the Headies 2016.

This year’s edition has Dice Ailes, Dremo, Mayorkun, Terry Apala and Mz Kiss as nominees.

After entries of votes from the public, the Eleko crooner amassed the highest number of votes,  followed by his Label mate, Dremo as first runner-up and Chocolate City act, Dice Ailes coming third.

Winner of this category was not announced at the awards because the nominees were late for their opening performances and we had to move swiftly to other scheduled programs.

Congratulations to them.

Trey Songz Arrested For Same Thing Olamide Did At Last Year’s Headies

Trey Songz made good on a threat during a Detroit concert Wednesday night … and it landed him in jail.

Someone at the Joe Louis Arena apparently told Trey his set was going too long, but he wasn’t near ready to leave. In fact, he dared them to cut his mic, promising retaliation if they did.

Well, they did and he did. Trey started destroying everything in sight, hurling objects in the air. A cop who tried subduing him was hurt after being struck by debris. This act of violence is obviously very synonymous to what Olamide did at the Last headies awards.

Trey was arrested for resisting arrest and malicious destruction of property.
