The presidential candidate of the Labour party, Peter Obi, emerges the winner of the presidential election conducted in Delta state.
Recall that the 2023 presidential election was conducted on the 25th of February, 2023. Earlier, we reported that Peter Obi surpassed his counterparts in Abuja, Nasarawa, Lagos, Enugu, and now Delta in the elections. According to the results released by INEC, Obi polled a total of 341,866 to edge out his closest rival PDP’s Atiku Abubakar who polled a total of 161,600 votes while APC’s Bola Tinubu polled 90,183 votes to come third. The candidate of the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP), Rabiu Kwankwaso, came a distant fourth with 3,122 votes.
Sadiq was one of the freed hostages of the Abuja-Kaduna train terrorist attack. Sadiq, the son of Professor Ango Abdullahi, Convener of the Northern Elder’s Forum, and late Hajiya Aisha, “Mama Taraba”, former Minister of Women Affairs, was released by the terrorists on Saturday, July 9, 2022 after three months in captivity. The Returning Officer, Dr Hashim Suleiman of the Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria, announced the result in Zaria. He declared Ango-Abdullahi winner of the election having defeated a four-term member representing the area, Malam Garba-Datti Mohammed of the All Progressive Congress, APC, who polled 31,737 votes. 
The coalition of votes from other States is still ongoing for the Presidential candidates. Nigerians have called out INEC over their inability to call the results and also an alleged action to rig the elections in favor of APC’s Tinubu. In the wake of the elections saga, the PDP’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar is also doing magic in some of the States as he sweeps massive votes in Sokoto and Kaduna States. According to reports, PDP’s Atiku has swept 228,679 votes while APC and LP have also clinched 285,444 and 6,588 respectively in Sokoto State. Also in Kaduna States, Atiku swept about 554,360 votes while APC with 399,293, LP with 294,494, and NNPP with 92,969 votes. TOTAL PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION RESULT FROM SOKOTO STATE APC: 285, 444
Recall that during the elections on the 25th, actress Chioma Akpotha took to her Instagram page to share a video of how some thugs disrupted the elections and attacked voters at her polling unit. It seems the incident affected the health of Chioma as Omoni Oboli was forced to spend the night with her in order to keep an eye on her. Speaking about the health of Chioma, Omoni Oboli said she was shaken but not defeated. In a post, Omoni Oboli wrote; “Spent the night with my one true love. My sister’s friend @chiomakpotha. My hero! One of the strongest women I know. She’s ok guys. I know y’all have been worried. Shaken but not defeated. You fought for all of us! You have always been for the good of the people! Posterity will forever be kind to you and your children Nkem. We will NEVER forget! I want to say thank you all for your love and support. I made her laugh small. She will be alright 🙏🏾 Love you all.” 
A lot of congratulatory messages came through for the billionaire politician, Ned Nwoko after he secured his senatorial seat in Delta state after the elections. In the wake of the celebrations after the elections, the Moroccan wife of Ned Nwoko, Laila Charani congratulated him and cheered him for his hard work while thanking those who supported and voted for her husband. Laila wrote on her page; “I want to use this medium to appreciate all who worked tirelessly with my husband, Prince Ned Munir Nwoko. A big hug and appreciation to all those who trust his leadership and positive influence in Anioma Delta and the society at large. It’s not a day’s victory; we will continue to celebrate this victory and work towards a better Nigeria. Congratulations to my munir ❤️. Congratulations to the people of Anioma Delta!
