After the final live show of Big Brother Naija and a winner was chosen, most heads have turned to where the housemates will throw their energies and fame into.

From music to TV, and comedy, almost all the housemates have already chosen their career path, although they are yet to make a big splash.

Many of them will be in music. 8 of the housemates are currently in the music industry. Do you know that Efe, the winner of the BBNaija show is an upcoming rapper? Debie Rise and Coco are singers?

Uriel is a singer who specializes in pop and highlife. One of her most popular tracks is titled ‘Nwoke oma’.

Uriel was born in Hammersmith, England and was sent to Nigeria soon after birth. She has four very diverse brothers ranging from serious business man to one that’s really cool, complete with hair and beads. Uriel is spontaneous, passionate with a nurturing nature too! She loves to cook, but hates cleaning up after cooking. She likes to think of herself as a master of organised mess!

A Pastor and Musician’s son and a good singer himself, Soma has opened for several high-profile acts. He was inspired by his mom who also encouraged him to pursue a career in Music. He’d started studying at UniPort but decided to defer his studies and focus on Science when he resumes since he loves gadgets. He’s in a long-distance relationship.

Efe

Efe is a rapper and singer who has an EP titled “Lagos.”

Efe moved to Lagos because it is “where it all happens’’ and worked his way up to earn recognition. A graduate in Economics, he enjoys cooking and is confident with his easy-flowing attitude which helped him win the show.

Coco Ice

Coco Ice is a rapper who has a number of singles and videos already released before the house.

She has a very good relationship with her brother especially since their mother passed in 2001. Having endured a few unlucky romantic relationships, she’s currently single and focusing on advancing her singing career. “I used to be all over the place emotionally but now I’m more controlled”.

Abisola Ayeola who was a contestant of the first edition of Project Fame West Africa in 2008 finished among the first five in the competition says she was a spoilt child till age 8 when her then well-off family hit some major hurdles. She had to move to rural Nigeria where she lived with cousins selling make up.

She is a voice-over artiste and one time TV host of Billboard Nigeria, which aired on silver bird television from 2011 to 2013.

Ese Uriata

Ese Eriata was born as the last of four children, two boys and two girls. She’s the face of Candy City 2016. Although she dabbles in comedy, she is a singer who has released music professionally. Her latest single is titled ‘Super love’.

Debie Rise

Debbie Rise was born on December 20th in Kaduna State. She is a graduate of Computer Science with a major in Graphics and Web Application Development from the Federal University of Technology, Yola. She speaks both Yoruba and Hausa.

Debie was the first runner-up of the third edition of Nigerian Idol. She is a bonafide fitness freak as she is involved in football, dancing and Taekwondo. Debbie Rise has performed at major events within and outside the country including Felabration, Afropolitan Vibes at Freedom Park, the National Museum, Fotoplus Award night, Purple Account event powered by Wema Bank at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife. The fast rising performer has recorded about four singles such as No Cunny Cunny, Gagabu, Can’t stop me and Winner.

Bally (DJ)

DJ Bally (Bobai Balat) is one of a new breed of DJs coming out of Africa. He works mainly EDM genre. He grew up on his elder sibling’s diverse record collection, from soulful 1980s/1990s Hip-Hop & R&B to the high tempo rhythmic progressions of Makossa. DJ Bally thus ended up with a varied musical influences. This reflects in his mixes, which are infused with the DJ’s own affinity for the more electronic synth sounds coming out of Europe.

DJ Bally’s ability goes beyond turntables. Over the last couple of years he has been honing his craft as a record producer, putting out a long array of music projects along the way. His goal has been to spearhead the EDM movement in Africa while at the same time doing his part in spreading the gospel of Afrobeats music to the rest of the world. His experimental productions are reminiscent of early Diplo.

His mashup series “MashUp Mondays” where he releases a brand new mashup every Monday was hosted on The Beat 99.9 FM, a Lagos radio station during the Morning Rush show. He also hosts a weekly online podcast called “Ballystic Radio” where he plays and speaks about the latest songs in various sub-genres of electronic music today.
