Tinubu wins 10 LGs in Ogun State

Bola Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress presidential candidate, has won in all 10 out of 20 local government areas that have been declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission in Ogun State.

The local government officers declared the results at the state collation centre in Abeokuta on Sunday. The Peoples Democratic Party presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, is currently behind the APC based on the results that have been declared so far. The 10 local governments that have been declared are Remo North, Ikenne, Egbado-South, Ewekoro, Abeokuta North, Ijebu-North, Ijebu North-East, Imeko Afon, Odeda, and Ijebu-Ode. 2023 Elections: Tinubu sweeps 12 LGAs in Oyo

As result collation continues in the 2023 elections, Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), emerged victorious in 12 local government areas of Oyo State.

Tinubu competed in the 2023 presidential elections against the candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, and Peter Obi of the Labour Party, defeating them both. The local government areas in which Tinubu was declared the winner are as follows: Ibadan North West: APC 13078, PDP 6011, LP 4820 Kajola: APC 11917, PDP 9358, LP 503 Afijio: APC 8876, PDP 4112, LP 1925 Itesiwaju: APC 6180, PDP 4948, LP 387 Atisbo: APC 7928, PDP 4031, LP 1178 Atiba: APC 15046, PDP 6180, LP 1234 Lagelu: APC 16011, PDP 5112, LP 4066 Oyo West: APC 14076, PDP 4544, LP 1724 Iseyin: APC 19731, PDP 6588, LP 1371 Ibarapa East: APC 10575, PDP 4800, LP 779 Saki East: APC 6414, PDP 3634, LP: 1144 Ibarapa Central: APC 10291, PDP 5169, LP 726 The announcement of the results for Ibarapa North and Oyo East has been postponed due to inconsistencies in the figures. The centre is currently on a break and will reconvene later today. The state collation officer, Professor Babatunde Olusola, who is also the acting Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, made the announcement.

Notable actress, Bimbo Akinsanya, corroborates the claim of her colleague, Dayo Amusa, by accusing Iyabo Ojo of sleeping with the NURTW chairman, Mc Oluomo.

Dayo Amusa had taken to Instagram to subtly claim that a certain colleague of hers was a beneficiary of Mc Oluomo while calling the individual an ingrate. Iyabo Ojo, however, addressed the claim by stating her relationship with the union chairman and the gifts she ever received from him.

Corroborating Dayo Amusa’s claim, Bimbo Akinsanya alleged that Mc Oluomo and Iyabo Ojo are sleeping together to date. She made the claim by reposting Amusa’s post on her Instagram page with the caption. “E dey fuck Dem also ooo. Dey fuck Dem till date,” she wrote.

Veteran Nollywood actress, Iyabo Ojo claps back at her colleague, Dayo Amusa who called an individual an ingrate for calling Mc Oluomo a thug.

Dayo Amusa had taken to Instagram to subtly ridiculed an individual for referring to her benefactor as a thug because of his political affiliation with APC. After being tagged in a post, Iyabo Ojo went live on Instagram to address the situation. She clarified that her relationship with MC Oluomo was simply cordial and not based on any party affiliation. In addition, she revealed that she has other friends at the party who have supported her more than her rivals realize.

She confirmed that the NURTW chairman gave her millions of naira as gifts including electronics on different occasions. Iyabo insisted that none of Dayo Amusa claims was about her while stating that she is also her friend.

Furthermore, Iyabo Ojo criticized high-ranking officials in the state and entertainment industry. Labour Party demands cancellation of election results in Rivers state

The Labour Party (LP) has called for the cancellation of election results from Saturday’s presidential and National Assembly elections conducted in Rivers State.

Labour Party’s National Chairman, Julius Abure, said elections were manipulated in places like Obio/Akpor, Khana, Eleme, Obigbo and Rumukoro amongst others in Rivers. Abure also alleged that political thugs invaded various polling units and collation centres, took away election materials including the results sheets and “manipulated the BVAS machines and uploaded fake results into the Central portal”. The Labour Party Chairman who also claimed that they recorded 323 votes at the polling units in Governor Nyesom Wike’s compound in Worji, against the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) which polled 5 and 2 votes respectively, also alleged that security agents were used to snatch ballot papers. The statement read; “We took particular note of incidences in places like Obio/Akpor, Khana, Eleme, Obigbo, Rumukoro and several other areas where Labour Party was clearly leading in virtually all the polling units with very wide margins. “Nigerians went into this election based on the assurances by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC that the deployment of BVAS was a perfect antidote to electoral malpractices in Nigeria, but what transpired across Nigeria, if allowed to stand is purely a betrayal of trust by millions of Nigerians on INEC. “Some of these manipulations happened way into late in the night. We demand that INEC investigate these atrocities against Nigerian voters by the political class. “We are therefore asking that INEC should rise to the occasion and cancel all the unverified and manipulated results arising from the presidential and national assembly elections in parts of Rivers state particularly in places like Obio/Akpor, Khana, Eleme, Obigbo and Rumukoro amongst others.”

Superstar singer, Asa has reacted to the violence and tribalism recorded in some parts of Lagos state during the presidential and national assembly elections conducted yesterday, February 25.

Recall that yesterday, there were reports of thugs disrupting the proceedings by tearing ballot papers and even snatching people’s phones to stop them from recording. Multiple online reports also alleged that some voters were assaulted at some polling units. An eyewitness also posted a video of a man openly threatening people who don’t plan to vote for the All Progressives Congress (APC) to go home.

The singer who disclosed that she is a first-time voter, said she voted yesterday and it was peaceful. Asa however noted that she is saddened that people were attacked in Lagos. Popular Nollywood actress, Dayo Amusa, terms a colleague of hers a ‘bloody ingrate’ for referring to her former sponsor as a thug.

The actress took to her Instagram to call out a particular colleague who used to receive financial support from someone she now calls a thug. INEC to cancel polling unit in Kwara over ballot box snatching

Malam Attahiru Madami, the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) for Kwara state, stated that the outcome of Polling Unit 10 in Tsaragi will be invalidated due to an incident of ballot box snatching by miscreants on Saturday.

Madami explained to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Sunday that the decision to cancel the results aligns with the regulations governing the election process. He attributed the delay in the arrival of INEC officials and materials to certain parts of Ilorin West and subsequent disruption in the commencement of voting at the Registration Area Centre (RAC). “It took us up to 11a.m. before will finished the distribution of logistic and immediately I knew we are starting late. I extended the time of voting until the last person on queue voted”, he said According to the REC, ballot boxes were stolen from just one out of the 2,887 polling units in Kwara, indicating a low incidence of such incidents. Additionally, the commission did not utilize vehicles belonging to any of the political parties participating in the election to distribute materials, contrary to rumours.
