Harry Kane has insisted that his prolific goal-scoring spree is inspired by the legacies of legends Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. “I think of what they’ve done, they are as good in their 30s as they were in their 20s,” Kane said in a recent interview. Since joining Bundesliga side Bayern Munich from Tottenham in the summer, the 30-year-old striker has scored 17 goals in just 11 league matches. Kane is currently the Premier League’s second-highest all-time scorer with 213 goals. He netted twice in Bayern’s 4-2 win over Heidenheim at the Allianz Arena last weekend.

He also hopes to play at the highest level for as long as possible, following in the footsteps of Ronaldo and Messi. “As it’s almost the second half of my career, I’ve had a good first half; now, can the second half be even better?” Kane questioned rhetorically.
