The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, is still in the process of uploading the polling unit results on its IREV portal a week following the presidential election.
According to The Punch, as of the 4th of March, 159,509 out of 176,846 polling units have been successfully uploaded, representing 90% of results across the country. Although the electronic transmission is still ongoing, INEC Chairman, Mahmood Yakubu, had declared the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, as the winner of the election on March 1, 2023, despite objections by the main opposition parties. The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Labour Party alleged that the commission did not follow its guidelines, which require results to be uploaded on the IReV portal before they are announced at the collation centre.
