Super Falcons Yet To Get Allowances After AWCON Victory
Nigeria’s female national team, Super Falcons are yet to receive their match allowances and bonuses from the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
The Falcons lamented that despite emerging champions at the just concluded 2016 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations (AWCON), they have not gotten their full payment from the football body.
BBC says the players are being owed allowances from both qualifiers and tournament proper.
Similarly, they are yet to receive a word from Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari, since they arrived Abuja on Sunday evening.
The only remark gotten so far was from the President’s Twitter handle and a statement issued by his spokesman, Femi Adesina.
A very sweet and well-deserved victory for the Super Falcons, African champions for the 8th time. Congratulations to the Team, & to Nigeria pic.twitter.com/nMhRhcNw8a

The players are currently staying at the Agura Hotel in the Federal Capital Territory.
Although the NFF promised to pay all their outstanding allowances, the players vowed not to leave the hotel accommodation until they receive their payment.
