The mother of one said she decided to bring back the veteran actor because he deserved another shot following a marriage scandal that harmed his career. Emma, Emeka Ike’s ex-wife, accused him of violence and barred him from seeing his children.

Toyin explained her reasoning for bringing him back: “I’ve been talking to uncle Emeka since last year, I know he has been off for a long time, everything we heard; then obviously I was not as big as this so I sent him a message. My manager Otunba Seun got his number for me and I said come back and he said ‘what if’…everything that happened,’ I said don’t worry even if you did it you have suffered enough, 13 years, its okay, its fine. “I am not saying you did, I wasn’t there but even if you did it’s okay, 13 years. I don’t mind taking risks it doesn’t matter because I see you in this role because I feel everybody deserves a second chance. It’s okay.”

The presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the February 25th general elections, Peter Obi clarifies his absence at the Supreme Court during Tinubu’s victory. A lot of people really think that me looking for my mum [when she went missing from a psychiatric centre], with all the love that I did, she was so present in my life. No. She was absent my entire life. “My entire life was just longing to.. I will be in school. I will see people’s mums come for PTAs and what not, and I will just feel like, Oh! My God, my mum is so pretty, if she came here now, I would probably have like so many more friends. It never happened. “The silver lining for me, why I really still have love to give, is my dad. And I think something happened in the Big Brother show, I think we were sitting in the dining room, it was an argument about how men could not. “Someone said men could not take care of children as much as women would love and take care of them. Dr Levi Uzoukwu (SAN), the leading counsel to the Labour Party (LP) and Peter Obi has blasted Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for showing a lack of preparation in defending its case at the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal (PEPC). Uzoukwu made this comment on Monday, shortly after the court adjourned its resumed sitting, following the absence of INEC’s first defence witness.

Dr Levi Uzoukwu (SAN) The PEPC was forced to adjourn after the first of three witnesses scheduled to appear on behalf of INEC failed to appear allegedly on account of what the commission cited as domestic issues. Speaking to newsmen just outside the court, the LP lawyer said his camp has a strong case and are ready to move on with their case, unlike the INEC that has continued to show inconsistencies. “Given the contradictions and inconsistencies and what INEC has done; I’m sure they are not ready to defend this case. “I stand to be proven wrong, but I would wish that they defend this matter so that the public will see more things of what happened to this election,” he told Channels Television While reiterating that Nigeria has never had an election like the February 25th presidential poll, the legal counsel stressed that it is the INEC’s choice to either call a witness or witnesses, adding that he and his client the LP, are ready at all times. It would be recalled that at the mention of the case around 9:30 am, lawyer to INEC, Abubakar Mahmoud (SAN), told the court that although his client planned to call three witnesses within three days, the one slated for today was unavailable on account of domestic issues. Lawyers to other parties in the case – Livy Uzoukwu (SAN) for Obi/LP, Wole Olanipekun (SAN) for President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettma, and Lateef Fagbemi (SAN) for the All Progressives Congress (APC), did not object to the request by the INEC lawyer.

Tension as Ondo deputy gov makes demands in Akeredolu’s absence

There is tension in Ondo State’s government house as reports have emerged that the Deputy Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa has been making demands and asking questions about his principal, Governor Rotimi Akeredolu’s earnings and spending in running the affairs of the state. Recall that Akeredolu embarked on medical treatment abroad and transmitted power to his deputy, as he is billed to return to the country on July 6.

The governor’s office does not directly instruct us to release funds. “There are established procedures for financial disbursements in the government, and all approvals must go through the Ministry of Finance. “Aside from the running grant accruing to the deputy governor’s office monthly, he has also demanded that the governor’s running grant and other emoluments attached to the office of the governor be handed to him as acting Governor. “In the past week, the deputy governor has summoned and threatened two of our officials. He has inquired about the governor’s spending and demanded to know how funds allocated to the governor’s office are disbursed. “He believes he is entitled to two streams of funding, insisting that the governor’s office allocation should be included as part of his role as acting governor. “During the encounters with our officials, they kindly explained that even the governor’s office route its approvals through the Ministry of Finance. “However, the deputy governor remains obstinate, repeatedly demanding immediate funds. Despite our attempts to educate him on proper financial protocols and the responsible use of public funds, he persists. “He has been confrontational and demanding. We see this as executive recklessness. While we understand tensions may be high, we would prefer not to be involved in any reckless activities.”
