The club’s coach, Erik ten Hag has reportedly given his blessing to see Phil Jones, David de Gea, and Axel Tuanzebe leave. Ethan Galbraith, Charlie Wellens and Di’Shon Bernard are the others leaving. A lot of focus will be on De Gea and former United star Rio Ferdinand bemoaned the way the saga around the Spaniard’s future has been handled to this point. De Gea’s previous contract had a one-year extension clause which United declined to trigger due to concerns over his £375,000-a-week wages. De Gea, who becomes a free agent on the day of his wedding, could remain with United as the Red Devils have extended an offer and are planning to continue negotiations with the 32-year-old.

Former Governor of Zamfara State, Bello Matawalle He told BBC Hausa service in an interview on Saturday that the security agents who invaded his houses looted some personal belongings of his wives and children, including clothing materials and matrimonial facilities he secured for the scheduled wedding of his daughters. Matawalle said, “The security agents should display the 40 vehicles for public judgment. Anybody who knows Bello Matawalle will believe that I have been in the car business ever since I became the governor of Zamfara State. “I have been in the car business for a long period of time and most of the vehicles the security personnel impounded from my two houses are those that I bought from America long before I became a governor. “The vehicles they impounded at Maradun were those donated to me by well-wishers and were all branded with my images and that of Bola Ahmed Tinubu. But surprisingly, they said that the vehicles belong to the state government.” “I have never seen the worst scenario like what happened in my residences last Friday.” The former governor further said he was in Abuja and nobody called to notify him that his attention was needed in relation to the issue. “But all I heard was that the security agents invaded my private residences as if there is no law and order in Nigeria,” he lamented.

INEC explains why agents were denied access to election results

INEC officials explain why agents were denied access to election results at 2023 Presidential Poll

Three officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC have explained that the Commission instructed them not to give final copies of election results that were tabulated in a Form EC8A, to some political party agents. The officials also admitted that they couldn’t electronically transmit the polling unit results in real-time using the BVAS device during the 2023 presidential election held on 25 February 2023 across the country. They explained this in court on Friday during the hearing of the petition candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, filed to challenge the outcome of the 2023 election. Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar The officials testified before the Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC) in Abuja that they were hired as Ad-hoc staff for the general elections. They further told the court that as Presiding Officers, they conducted the presidential election at their various polling units and subsequently handed the results to the Ward Collation Officers, saying that they were warned not to give copies of the results to any agent of a political party that failed to sign the result sheet. Recall that President Bola Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima and the All Progressives Congress, APC  had opposed the decision of the petitioners to produce five ad-hoc staff members of the electoral body that participated in the conduct of the presidential election, to testify as witnesses before the court. However, despite the objections, Justice Haruna Tsammani-led five-member panel of the court, gave the former Vice President, Atiku, the nod to produce the five witnesses. The court said it would reserve its ruling on the objections and deliver the same at a later date. Whereas two of the witnesses testified on Thursday, the remaining two gave their evidence on Friday.

Photos showing faces of some loan apps agents who have been incessantly defaming Nigerians were released shortly after some of the companies operating in Ikeja, Lagos, were raided in a joint operation with the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) on Friday.

Nigerians, who have awful experiences with these companies have continued to accuse them of employing different types of mannerless and uncultured characters as workers.
Victims say the criminal loan sharks that parade google playstore have become experts in blackmail and blatant invasion of people’s privacy.
The companies – GoCash, Okash, EasyCredit, Kashkash, Speedy Choice, Easy Moni, owned by Blue Ridge operate on the third floor of a four-storey building in the area was raided.

After the raid, Mr Babatunde Irukera, the commission’s boss who led the operation said: “Because people were on lockdown due to the pandemic, people started needing small easy loans which is understandable.
“But over a period of time, people started complaining about the malpractices of the lenders so we started tracking it.
“Sometime towards the end of last year, after gathering quite a lot of information, we started working with some other key agencies like the EFCC, ICPC, National Human Right Commission, CBN, NCC. And FCCPC led the meeting where we all agreed that there would be a joint effort to look into these businesses.
“Secondly the interest factor seems to be a violation of the ethics on how lending is done. So those were the two things that we set out to look for.”
