Veteran broadcaster Aisha Bello Mustapha is dead

Nigerian veteran broadcaster, Aisha Bello Mustapha, popularly known on NTA Network News at 9 PM, has passed away. After an extraordinary 35-year career, Aisha, who rose to prominence as a newscaster on NTA Network News at 9 PM in the 1990s and early 2000s, passed away.

Aisha Bello Mustapha The cause of her death is currently unknown. Her family confirmed her passing in a statement: “Innalilahi wa inna Alaihin Rajiun. May Allah forgive our Mother Hajia Aishat Bello Mustapha. Mama, indeed, you are a very kind-hearted person. We will miss you and hope you are enjoying Rahma. “Her funeral prayer is scheduled to take place at the central mosque in Abuja at 1 pm on Monday, 11th December 2023.” Netizens reactions to the passing of Aisha Bello Mustapha beerah_cakes wrote: “Chai her diction was always on point! In another tweet following the inauguration, Aisha referred to the B.A.T as an impostor in reply to a news headline about the US President Joe Biden congratulating the Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan but not Tinubu. “Democracy is not about who was voted in. It is about whether someone was voted in. Erdogan might be a dictator to the rest of the world but he was chosen by his people.
Tinubu on the other hand is an impostor who stole people’s mandate through rigging and violence,” she added.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Yola, the state capital, declared Binani as the winner of the election on Sunday. Her PDP closest rival scored 406,617 votes, while the senator garnered 409,909 votes, leading to her victory. Following the election of Aisha Dahiru Binani as governor, she made history as Nigeria’s second female Governor, with the first being Dame Virginia Etiaba of Anambra state, from November 2006 to February 2007.

The Special Adviser to Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto state on female education, Hajia Aisha Maina has died in PDP rally stampede.

Hajia Aisha Maina attended the Presidential rally of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). The rally took place in Sokoto state on Tuesday, January 31. Unfortunately, she was caught in a stampede that occurred at the exit gate of Giginya Stadium, the venue of the rally. A staff at the Ministry of Information said; “A motorcyclist fell down from his bike at the exit way of the stadium and that caused a serious stampede, with people falling upon one another. She was one of the victims.” Chairman of Forum of Special Advisers, Ibrahim Magaji Gusau, who confirmed Maina’s death, said she was rushed to the Usmanu Danfodiyo University Teaching Hospital. “She died few minutes after her admission. Even during the rally, we were together, not knowing that would be our last meeting.”

Maina was the former chairperson of the National Woman Journalists Association of Nigeria (NAWOJ), Sokoto state chapter. She was also the former Special Adviser to Governor Aminu Tambuwal on New Media. She was later moved to Female Education Board. Aisha is survived by three children and aged parents.
