Tonto Dikeh's leaked chat exposes real reason she joined APC

A leaked chat on Instagram has exposed controversial actress, Tonto Dikeh’s reason for suddenly joining APC. In the chat which was shared by blogger Gistlovers, Tonto expressed her good intentions and desire to be inside the party to bring about positive change. She also mentioned her previous fight against the Lagos state government, which she believed to be aligned with the APC. She said; “My intentions are good. I need to be inside to effect change. This has been ongoing for 1 month. No be me still come out the fight Lagos state govt who is obviously APC. I’m coming in as an individual ready to work for the youths and women. Never can be an oppressor.” Tonto Dikeh’s move from the ADC party to the APC has drawn attention and generated mixed reactions. Some people support her decision, seeing it as an opportunity for her to make a difference for the youth and women. Others, however, have expressed skepticism and raised questions about her motives and the impact she can have within the ruling party. @06globalconcept_backupage said: “APC is not a party anyone with good reputation should join u said what I said with my full chest if u join them u will be like them there is nothing good about being an APC member it’s like from grass to hole nothing everyone that has joined that party has a bad file he doesn’t want the whole world to know about and also 99% of them are criminals.” @gist.connect said: “I’m even disappointed.” @damilola_a_ commented: “See why people would always come for them even when they try to do good? Because their actions says otherwise.” @dw said: “There is no difference between all political parties in Nigeria. We wailed for 16 years because of PDP, now APC is here yet nothing changed. 50% of the membership of APc were former members of PDP. The present LP is an offshoot of the PDP, So why on earth do we still think one political party is the problem??? Maybe if we start attending political party meeting we will understand that they choose the success of their party way above a good economy but as usual we the masses don’t have sense. This is meant to be an Elites VS masses battle not political party. They share themselves into two or three parties and we are left with no choice than to chose amongst them yet we complain there is no change.. We all agreed in 2020 after EndSARS to end APC & PDP. boom. A PdP member ran to Labour Party. They started painting him Good & others bad. We never ready!” @woleadebayo reacted: “People wey no send you, na where dem go chop dem know.the sooner you realise it the better.everybody for naija na dem pocket dem dey fight for.” See the post below:

Senator Abdullahi Adamu, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has reportedly resigned from his position following an alleged gang up against him by people around President Bola Tinubu to embarrass him during a meeting of the party slated for tomorrow and Wednesday. It was gathered that the former governor of Nasarawa State, Adamu tendered his resignation on Sunday night, July 16 in the absence of the president.

National Chairman of APC, Adamu resigns following alleged gang up against him

National Chairman of APC, Senator Abdullahi Adam According to the report by Daily Trust, Adamu, who emerged as the national chairman at the party’s national convention held in March 2022, sent his resignation letter to the Presidential Villa, Abuja ahead of the return of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu from the African Union (AU) meeting in Kenya. He sent the letter to the Chief of Staff of the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, around 4 pm on Sunday. “He has resigned. The resignation letter signed by him has been sent to the villa. The letter was addressed to President Tinubu. But since the president is away in Kenya for the AU meeting, the letter was sent to his chief of staff,” a source said Also, a source close to Adamu reportedly corroborated this, adding that: “The national chairman resigned following a gang up by people around the president to embarrass him during the meetings of the party slated for tomorrow and Wednesday.” The source, however, denied a report that it was President Tinubu that asked Adamu to resign ahead of the National Caucus and National Executive Committee (NEC) meetings of the party slated for tomorrow and Wednesday. The party had fixed July 10 and 11 for its National Caucus and NEC meetings to iron out critical issues affecting it and the crisis within the National Working Committee (NWC). However, the meetings were later postponed and rescheduled for tomorrow and Wednesday. A founding member of the party said Adamu resigned when he got wind that two influential personalities around the president had mobilised against him ahead of the meetings. “He resigned because they have started to collate signatures to impeach him during the forthcoming meetings. He resigned to save himself from humiliation,” the top politician said When contacted, Adamu told this paper that he will not comment on the matter until President Tinubu returns from the AU’s meeting. “I won’t talk about the issue because the president is away,” Adamu who was the preferred candidate of former President Muhammadu Buhari for the chairmanship seat, said

"Adamu may be removed as APC National Chairman for rejecting NASS principal officers" ― Sources

There are strong indications that the National Chairman of All Progressives Congress, APC, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, may be removed from office following his disapproval of the principal officers of the National Assembly announced by Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, and Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, on Tuesday. Multiple sources told Vanguard that Adamu’s position on the principal officers was considered a defiance of President Bola Tinubu’s wishes, as the National Assembly leadership reportedly got the support of the presidency before making announcing the officers.

"Adamu may be removed as APC National Chairman for rejecting NASS principal officers" ― Sources

APC National Chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, Recall that Senate President, Akpabio announced Senators Opeyemi Bamidele, Dave Umahi, Ali Ndume and Lola Ashiru as Majority Leader, Deputy Majority Leader, Chief Whip and Deputy Chief Whip of the Senate respectively. Similarly, Abbas named Julius Ihonvbere and Kingsley Chinda as the majority leader and minority leader respectively in the House of Representatives. They both represent the APC, and Peoples Democratic Party, PDP. Peeved at the development, the Senator Abdullahi Adamu-led National Working Committee, NWC, of the APC immediately disowned the announcement, saying the party had not officially communicated with both presiding officers of the national legislature. He said: “The essence of today’s invitation is simply to rub minds with you as a matter of courtesy. You will get an update on the National Assembly, sharing of powers, particularly the leadership of the chambers. “The election of the Senate President and Deputy Senate President; the election of the Speaker and the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives have been determined and they have now assumed their responsibilities. “The remaining offices at the two chambers are yet to be done. I had a courtesy call on Saturday from the President of the Senate and his deputy. The following day which was Sunday, I received a visit from the Speaker and his deputy coming to me for Sallah’s homage. “But I am just hearing rumours now from the online media that there have been some announcements in the Senate and House of Representatives. The national headquarters of the party or the NWC has not given any such information or communicated about the choice of the remaining offices and until we formally resolve and communicate to them in writing which is the normal practice as had been done before we came here, it is not our intention to break away from tradition. “So, whatever announcement is done either by the President of the Senate, Deputy Senate President, Speaker or Deputy Speaker, is not from this secretariat.” A party source, who spoke in confidence, said: “Adamu was wrong to have spoken the way he spoke and that the principal officers of the National Assembly emerged after wide consultations with relevant stakeholders. “Also, Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni observed that it was as if stakeholders of the party were all working at cross-purposes. He expressed concerns that even the NWC appeared constantly divided. He, therefore, pleaded with Adamu to seal all cracks and ensure that everyone is on the same page.” Following Adamu’s disapproval of the principal officers, sources hinted to Vanguard that the APC chairman may have bitten more than he can chew. It was gathered that the President is currently shopping for Adamu’s replacement and will make his position known when the party holds its National Executive Committee, NEC, on July 11.

Speaking at a meeting with the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF) led by Senator Hope Uzodinma of Imo State, Adamu said the party was not officially informed about the selection of the principal officers, describing the report as a rumour. Reacting to Adamu’s rejection in a chat with reporters, Uzodinma said the APC chairman never said Akpabio and Abass singlehandedly picked the principal officers. The Imo governor attributed the tussle between the leadership of the party and the National Assembly presiding officers to a communication gap, stressing that both sides enjoy the support of the Progressive Governors’ Forum. He said: “The Chairman never said they are on their own. The National Assembly leadership belongs to our great party, and they are members of our party and enjoy our support. “If there is any way there is a communication gap anywhere, we will make it up, and we have our internal mechanism of resolving such things. The National Assembly leadership enjoys the support of the Progressive Governors’ Forum and that of our party. We don’t have any problem at all.”

Governor Rotimi Akeredolu Ade Adetimehin, the Ondo State Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress, has urged the people of the state to keep praying for Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, who has been dealing with health problems lately. Governor Rotimi Akeredolu The chairman stated this on Sunday while speaking in Akure, the state capital. According to him, the health issue of the governor was not so serious that he would not be able to resume his official position as governor of the state. He said, “Some individuals and groups have taken it upon themselves to spread false news and rumors about his (Akeredolu’s) death. It is disheartening to see that some people would wish death upon a fellow human being. Such actions are unfair and should be condemned by all well-meaning individuals. “The opposition has also been quick to malign the governor’s family, accusing them of not doing enough to take care of the governor’s illness. Such accusations are falsely disrespectful, flippant and callous. “What Arakunrin Akeredolu and the family requires at this period is our support and prayers for the full recovery of their family patriarch. Arabinrin Betty Akeredolu and her children have been doing their best in taking care of the governor. “We must continue to pray for the governor’s recovery and stand by the family in these difficult times. Akeredolu is a good man who loves the downtrodden and deserves all the support and prayers for a full recovery from his illness.”

“Wike terrorized us for eight years, won’t be allowed to join our party” ― Rivers APC

"Wike terrorized us for eight years, won't be allowed to join our party" ― Rivers APC

The Rivers State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has again rejected the immediate past governor of the state, Nyesom Wike from joining the party, accusing him of terrorizing it for eight years. According to Darlington Nwauju, who’s currently serving as the Publicity Secretary of the party, Wike can’t join the party due to the terror he unleashed on the party for eight years.

Immediate Past governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike He disclosed this in a statement he issued Monday, describing Wike as an enemy, hence wouldn’t be allowed to join the party. The statement reads partly: “The terror unleashed on our party members in the cause of his eight years of maximum rulership alone is enough evidence to confirm that Wike has no business with Rivers State APC. “Asking him to come and take over is asking an enemy to come and finish off his victims. “We are aware of his schemes to escape justice over the looting of the collective patrimony of Rivers people which is the major reason for his romancing top APC members. “For those who may be suffering from amnesia, a non-APC member cannot be a cheerleader for the entry of Wike into APC.” During the last presidential election, Wike had openly campaigned for President Bola Tinubu. Wike, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, dumped his party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, for Tinubu of the APC. Following Wike’s commitment to ensure that Tinubu won the presidential election, a chieftain of the APC and former Chief of Staff, Rivers State Government House, Chief Tony Okocha stated that Wike deserves to reap what he sowed in making President Bola Tinubu victorious in the 2023 presidential election. Okocha who was the Coordinator of the BAT-Vanguard, an acronym for the disbanded Bola Ahmed Tinubu Vanguard in the South-South said Wike has the right to join any party. Okocha stated, “We are noticing that some persons who abandoned Tinubu when Tinubu needed them most and voyaged outside the shores are now relying on their personal relationships one way or the other to begin to make some sense of entitlement. “That they are entitled to whatever. In the leadership of the Tinubu family in Rivers State, we are at peace 100 per cent with His Excellency, Barr Nyesom Wike, the immediate past Governor of Rivers State as our leader. “He who pays the Piper dictates the tune. When it was difficult, even when the national body could not oblige us with funds for the national rally here, the magic was done by somebody.” He also urged the former Rivers State Governor not to delay in joining the APC to reap from his efforts in seeing Tinubu as President. “Our demand is that nobody should rob Peter to pay Paul. Our own share of the booty given to us should be handed over to His Excellency Nyesom Wike. “We are confident that as soon as it gets to him, he knows those who worked for Tinubu, and it will get to us. “It is only natural, that is how it should go, ” he added.
