Everybody is saying, ‘Tacha called Blaqbonez an upcoming artiste. Tacha called Odumodublvck an upcoming artiste.’ “If I called them upcoming artistes, tell me, what is wrong with using the term upcoming artistes? I rushed to Google to see the meaning of the term upcoming musician: ‘Upcoming musicians are those singers that are no longer new because they have been around for some time and promising to make it big.’ “Now, how is me calling Blaqbonez an upcoming artiste me putting him down or being condescending? I’ve always been that guy who just want to change the guy and change how the game is perceived. From sound to shows, to branding. “Even though some artists will not give me credit, I know how many people [artists] have copied my moves and I am flattered by it,” he said.

He further claimed that the two female artistes don’t have songs that can outlive 10 years and are easily forgettable when compared to some singers like Tiwa Savage, Omawumi, Waje, and Nicki Minaj. According to Regha, Tems is still being remembered for the high-profile international events he attends, while all Ayra Starr has is her miniskirts and her recycled songs including “Sability” which he described as the “most useless song” released.

Ayra Starr male female artistes standards

The ‘Rush’ crooner made this known while speaking in a recent interview with Saturday Beats. She remarked on how grateful she is for her senior female colleagues who have paved the way for budding female singer like herself, however, female and male performers are not treated equally. Ayra Starr said: “I am grateful to the women who came before me, who paved the way. Because of them, I am not dealing with so much. However, there is still that issue of female artistes being scrutinised more than their male colleagues. Female artistes are not held to the same standards as the males.” She also spoke on her recently released hit single, “Sability” which has been getting glowing reviews from appreciative fans.

“Of course, I am excited. I wanted people to feel good and be happy while listening to the song. I am happy it’s doing that and even more. Why Nigerian artistes do better than other artistes

Why Nigerian artistes do better than other artistes

Nigerian Afrobeats singer, Tiwa Savage, has revealed why most Nigerian artistes are more successful than other African artistes.
According to her, Nigerians are tough people and hustlers at heart which makes them always strive to do more.

She shared her opinion during a recent interview session she had with Unveil Africa.
In her words:
“Why do I think Nigerian artistes are succeeding a lot more that other African artistes? Oh you just want to get me in trouble today. I don’t know though, I don’t know.
“Nigerians are tough, we are hustlers and I think because the genre is called Afrobeats. The godfather of Afrobeats is FelaKuti so I think that’s another reason why.
“It’s a tough one for me because I absolutely love South Africa and I think the actions of few people shouldn’t really reflect the whole country and it happens everywhere.
“I think there’s a lot healing to be done between Nigeria and South Africa and I think now is the time for people to speak up and to just know that we are brothers and sisters and yea it sounds cliche but it’s true.
“Nobody, nobody wins when there is bloodshed. That’s the honest truth. There are few artistes doing it by themselves Yemi Alade, Simi, Teni, SMD and there I still room for more.
“You know that we are doing is breaking boundaries so the next generation won’t have to go through all of this.”
