Kane has just a year remaining on his contract, a scenario which has inevitably led to interest from elsewhere with Bayern Munich seemingly standing as the frontrunners. Thomas Tuchel’s side are said to have made two bids for the England international, the latest offer allegedly in the region of €80m (£68.4m). It is also believed that Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is against cashing in on the 30-year-old this summer, regardless of the risk of a free transfer in 2024. At his first press conference as Spurs boss on Monday, July 10, Postecoglou was naturally quizzed excessively on the future of Harry Kane and his thoughts on the situation. He said; “I haven’t had any assurances and I wouldn’t expect any. Harry is already part of the history of this club and I want him involved here. My conversation with him will be about how we can make this club successful and that is what he wants as well. I’m trying to concentrate on the things that I know right now, and what I know right now is that Harry’s part of this squad. He’s looking forward to coming back to training, getting among the players back in here and we start working together.” Postecoglu also disclosed what he plans to tell Kane when he returns to pre-season training later this week. He added; “Harry is already part of the history of this club and I want him involved here. My conversation with him will be about how we can make this club successful and that is what he wants as well. I doubt it will be defined in the manner people think. I want to introduce myself to Harry, give him my vision, get an understanding from him over what his vision is and try be successful.” The North Londoners have just endured their worst campaign for 14 years, finishing in eighth position in the Premier League table and missing out on European football. Spurs are on the brink of adding a further attacking player to their ranks with Manor Solomon having agreed to leave Shakhtar Donetsk for the Lilywhites after his productive stint on loan at Fulham.
