Asake recounted how he decided to wear only pants like the late Fela to perform alongside scantily-clad ladies in an attempt to gain attention and popularity. However, instead of achieving his intended goal, the move backfired spectacularly and was thrown off the stage. In his words; “Before I got the attention, I strived till I graduated from the university. I strived for like [another] two years before people like accept me. “So there’s this performance. I wanted to perform Fela, so I was on pants and saxophone. I packed like six girls on stage. I asked them to be half-naked. You know, one thing about Nigerians is that once people are naked, they just forget about all the thing that is happening and just focus. But these people [at the concert] stubborn o. “Those girls just walked in, then me too. I just walked in majestically as a star boy. I did not know where the first clap come from. The audience was like, ‘No, no, no.’ Everybody, like 9,000 capacity, clapping that they don’t want it.”

The Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and his party tendered the document along with other documents to prove the allegations in their joint petition challenging Tinubu’s declaration as the winner of the February 25 presidential election. Reacting, Omokri cautioned the PDP, saying Tinubu should not be attacked based on lies because God will lift him above his attackers. The staunch ally of Atiku stressed that Tinubu graduated with honours from the Chicago State University. Tweeting, Omokri wrote: “I worked for Waziri Atiku Abubakar to win. I pray he unseats Tinubu at the Presidential Election Petition Court. And I am not pursuing any political appointment or job offer from Tinubu. “However, it is false to assert that Bola Tinubu did not attend Chicago State University. I went there physically. I did a video broadcast from their campus. I met their officials. Tinubu attended and graduated from Chicago State University with honours, and they even have a photo of him in their alumni office as one of their most accomplished alumni. “Not only did I go there physically to expose Tinubu (only to find out that he attended), I also asked their registry to put what they told me in writing. “Attached is the letter they gave me. You can also go there physically, as I did, or email or phone them if you doubt this letter given to me. “The man is no saint. His past cartel links indelibly taint him. But let us be fair, honest and transparent as we oppose him. If we attack Tinubu based on lies, God will just disappoint us further and appoint him greater.”

"Tinubu attended our school" - Chicago State University puts controversy to bed as it responds to Inquiries

A few moments later, Eniola shared a response he got from Chicago State University some months ago, confirming Tinubu as its ex-student.

The controversy came after Tinubu reportedly told the Independent National Electoral commission, INEC, that he didn’t attend primary and secondary schools, and that every other certificates he acquired were stolen by unknown soldiers.
In an affidavit which was submitted to INEC and cited by Peoples Gazette, Tinubu claimed that although he didn’t attend primary and secondary schools, he had two degrees from two American universities which were later stolen.
The submitted affidavit to INEC according to Peoples Gazette, was said to be part of his (Tinubu’s) eligibility filings for the 2023 presidential elections.

Speaking on his stolen certificates which stirred skepticism, Tinubu had said: “I went on self-exile from October 1994 to October 1998. When I returned I discovered that all my property, including qualifications and my certificates respect of paragraph three above, were looted by unknown persons.
“My house was a target of series of searches by various security agent the time the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria was forced to adjourn following the military takeover of government of 17th November 1993.
“I was the chairman of the Senate committee on appropriation, banking and finance. I was also a plaintiff in one of the two suits against the interim national government in 1993.
“I went on exile when it became clear to me that my life was in danger.”
