Announcing his demise on Saturday, one X user, @KayceeMaduYEG, tweeted, “It is with profound sadness that I bring to you that our dear brother, friend, and colleague Ayokunle Odekunle, @oddy4real, lost his courageous battle with stage 4 cancer.” According to reports, Odekunle served as a solicitor and barrister at Queck & Associates Law Office in Alberta, Canada. He was a graduate of the University of Ibadan in Oyo State in 2011 with a law degree, Odekunle was admitted to the Nigerian Bar in 2012. In 2023, he received a call to the Alberta Bar. Having worked at Nigeria’s leading commercial litigation firm, Kenna Partners, Odekunle gained a reputation as a successful litigator, representing multiple global corporations in high-profile lawsuits in Nigeria, all of which he won. Ayokunle’s legal practice focused on various areas, including family law, immigration, wills and estates, and general litigation. Odekunle is survived by his spouse and children.

The patient’s letter, entrusted to her sister, expressed profound gratitude for Dr. Aniekwe’s unwavering support and compassionate care throughout her challenging battle with cancer.
Despite being reassigned to another unit, Dr. Aniekwe consistently went above and beyond to check up on his patient regularly, providing comfort and reassurance during her most difficult moments.

The patient, identified as Sister Grace, acknowledged Dr. Aniekwe’s efforts in the heartfelt letter, noting that his visits, even when he was assigned elsewhere, made a significant difference in her life.
The letter, addressed to Dr. Aniekwe, conveyed Sister Grace’s immense appreciation for the doctor’s presence and care.
She credited Dr. Aniekwe with alleviating her depression and providing strength through his compassionate approach, even when delivering difficult news about the severity of her condition.
She wrote;
“Dear Dr. Aniekwe, I want to thank you for being there for me. Even when they put you in another unit, you still came to check up on me. You are a good doctor and I pray for you every time. That God will bless your kind heart.
“You have made me not to be depressed anymore with my cancer. I have been feeling depressed since my cancer started but you made it better, even when you told me my cancer was bad, and I may not make it, I still felt better the way you told me.
“I pray God will bless you in your career, your health and your finances. And give you a good wife. Amen. Sister Grace madam Teacher, Your friend and patient.”
