Days after his appointment, UK university suspends Sen. Ike Ekweremadu following his trafficking case

The University of Lincoln, a public research university in the United Kingdom, has suspended Senator Ike Ekweremadu as its visiting professor.
The university’s decision follows Thursday’s arrest and subsequent arraignment of Ekweremadu and his wife, Beatrice, in London, over alleged conspiracy to harvest the kidney of a 15-year-old boy identified as Ukpo Nwamini David.

Following the weighty allegations, the university’s spokesperson was quoted as saying that Ekweremadu’s duties at the institution have been suspended for the time being.
This is coming a few days after Ekweremadu was appointed a visiting professor of Corporate and International Linkages in the university.
“Visiting professors are often, as is in this case, non-resident at the university, unpaid and advisory We are deeply concerned about the nature of these allegations, but as this is an active police investigation, we cannot comment further at this stage. Whilst this matter is subject to investigation, this person will not be undertaking any duties as visiting professor at Lincoln,” the university’s spokesperson said.

Presidential aspirant, Peter Obi, triggers mixed reactions following comments on the human trafficking charge slammed against Ike Ekweremadu.
This comes hours after the former Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, alongside his wife, Beatrice Nwanneka Ekweremadu, were arrested in the UK over an alleged organ harvest.

Taking to the micro-blogging platform, Twitter, Peter Obi offered prayers to their daughter who is in a delicate health condition.
“My family and I are with the Ekweremadu’s over their travail. We join all men of goodwill in praying for the healing of their daughter and commit them into God’s hand for justice to be done. -PO,” he wrote.

This, however, sparked mixed reactions from users of the platform encouraging him to back off the topic, while others applauded him.

Nigerian cryptocurrency trader, Linus Williams, popularly known as B Lord, has appreciated his barrister’s wife with a car gift as the celebration of their victory against the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, (EFCC), continues.
Recall that the Bitcoin trader was arrested in Awka, Anambra state, in August 2020, and wss wrongly paraded with 14 other suspects.

Thus, he dragged the anti-graft agency to the Enugu State Federal High Court.
On May 7, 2022, the Bitcoin trader announced his victory and recovered three of his cars which were impounded by the EFCC.
To thank his lawyer for making him win the case, he bought a brand new Toyota for the man’s wife and shared a video of him presenting the car to her.
He wrote; ”Just Gifted My Barrister’s Wife A New Car , Just Being Grateful @sniperkc , Na Barrister wey win case dem dey gift car.”
