We demolished government roundabout because it had Christian cross
Secretary to Kano State Government (SSG), Dr. Baffa Bichi, has disclosed that the symbolic Tumbin Giwa roundabout at the state government house was demolished because it had a Christian cross. Bichi offered the new explanation days after the state government revealed that the roundabout which serves as a symbol of the state’s Golden Jubilee was demolished in the interest of the public.
Kano SSG, Dr. Baffa Bichi. Source: Web The Kano SSG who sat for a radio interview, revealed that the roundabout was demolished because it had a Christian cross which is against the teachings of Islam. Bichi, a former senatorial candidate also said that the Hotoro interchange flyover which has two big crosses might also be demolished. He said; “If you take a drone to take the picture from the top, you will see a cross. In Kano, you cannot do that. Not only that it is in Kano, but in the Government House roundabout. This is against our norms and values and also against the teachings of Islam. “Another reason is that the roundabout is blocking people from seeing others from different directions. That is causing holdup and accidents along Government House road. This is not a wise decision.

This means if you are viewing Kano from the top using a drone, you will see two big crosses. That of the Government House and the flyover. We will not let that be.” Bichi also said they are carrying out massive demolition to return the state to its original master plan. He added; “How can you build shops inside mosques and residential area? This is wrong and that is what we are trying to address. That is why we ask everyone from the places that are wrongly built to remove their belongings. We gave notice severally, even before swearing in.” When asked if they will compensate those whose properties were demolished, Bichi asked them to claim their money from people that defrauded them.
Why Senate Presidency should’ve gone to a Northern Christian ― Reno Omokri
Former presidential aide, Reno Omokri has reacted to the emergence of Senator Godswill Akpabio as the 10th Senate president of the National Assembly, saying that the seat of the Senate President should have gone to a Northern Christian so as to balance the religious and regional factors. GistReel reports that Senator Akpabio defeated his opponent Abdulaziz Yari, with votes from the lawmakers, thereby making him the Senate President. Senate Presient-elect, Godswill Akpabio His victory was announced by the clerk of the National Assembly, Sani Tambawal Magaji who said Akpabio emerged the winner with 63 votes leaving his rival with 46 votes. Akpabio is the first South-Southerner to be elected President of the Senate since Nigeria got its independence in 1960. Reacting to this via his official Instagram page, Reno Omokri wrote, ‘‘Ideally, the Senate Presidency should have gone to a Northern Christian to balance both the religious and regional factors. Reno Omokri “That way, Northerners would have felt a sense of representation, and Christians would still feel comfortable. Let us learn from our history instead of repeating history and accusing history of repeating itself. “We have a Southern President and Chief Justice as heads of the Executive and Judiciary. As a result, the head of the Legislature ought to have been a Northerner. Anytime there is an imbalance in the three arms of Government, Nigeria has always faced political instability. Sharing power equitably is the only antidote to that volatility.”
Shettima campaigns for Akpabio, says number three citizen should be Christian
Vice-President Kashim Shettima has thrown his weight behind Senator Godswill Akpabio to become the 10th president of the senate, saying that Equity, justice and fairness demand that the number three citizen of the country be Christian. Shettima who said that a multi-ethnic, multi-religious polity like Nigeria already has a Muslim president and a Muslim vice-president said that he is ready to kneel down to beg the incoming senators to give Sen. God’swill Akpabio and Sen. Barau Jibrin an opportunity to lead the 10th Assembly.
Senator Godswill Akpabio Shettima said this at an interaction with senators across party lines held in Abuja. “I’m ready to kneel down and beg my colleagues for the sake of the nation. This is for the survival of this nation. “Here we are with a Muslim president and a Muslim vice-president in a multi-ethnic, multi-religious polity like ours. “Number 1, 2. All of the same faith for God’s sake!!!. “Under the current dispensation, the worst, the most incompetent Southern Christian is better than the most puritanical Northern Muslim for the Presidency of the Senate,” he said. Shettima added: ” Equity, justice and fairness demand that the number three citizen of this country should be Christian. “What binds us together supersedes whatever divides us. But most importantly, we should make deliberate efforts to take inclusivity in governance. “This is a young nation where every community will like to have fair representation on the dinner table of their kinsmen. “Politics is about perception, politics is about optics. I want to appeal to you, I want to appeal to your conscience.” “The stability and inclusivity and togetherness of this nation supersede the depth of our pockets, stability of our pockets. “We are talking about the sustainability of the nation. The nation is at a crossroads”. Also speaking, Sen. Ali Ndume (APC-Borno) said that the stability group had 73 persons who had signed for the Akpabio/Barau ticket. “We are working very hard to support you in your course for the stability of this country. “We have committed ourselves to your administration alongside President Bola Tinubu to ensure the stability of Nigeria. “The last time we had a meeting with the lawmakers-elect across party lines, the president shook hands with each one of us and called us by our native names. “This is one administration that will not only be people-oriented but close to the grassroots, ” he said. He added: ” So far, the decisions that are coming out are those that will strengthen Nigeria. “We’ll see Nigeria change before our very eyes and we’re committed to being a part of that change. We assure you not just of our loyalty but the stability of the parliament.” Similarly, Jibrin said “I must begin by thanking His Excellency, the vice president for his uncommon commitment. “To the actualisation of all those that have been endorsed by the party to preside over the two chambers of the National Assembly. “Your commitment is not to us as persons, it’s to the stability and peaceful coexistence of the people and indeed the progress of this nation.”
“What a sinner can do, a Christian can do better”
A Twitter user identified as @Ladizalocaa has come to the defense of Chef Dammy who is currently attempting the break Chef Hilda Baci’s record with 120 hours of cook-a-thon. According to her, the Chef is trying to discredit Hilda’s efforts by breaking the record while she hasn’t been recognized officially but rather, trying to prove that what a sinner can do, a Christian can do better which is why she has not been following the rules strictly.
Nigerian Chef, Chef Dammy Reacting to this, @Philsbaba wrote: “Dammy is doing nothing wrong, I think most of the hate is coming from the fact that she is from the Village and trying to outdo Naija’s fave. “Pls give this girl a chance. Both are Nigerians, Hilda doesn’t currently hold the record.”
Nigerian Chef, Hilda Baci @iam_7even commented: “Is Hilda not a Christian attending Pastor Bolaji’s church again ??” @stanley288638 wrote: “Y’all always trying to make Christianity look some type of way,

Why a Christian from South should be next Senate President ― Edwin Clark
Foremost stakeholder, Chief Edwin Clark, the convener of the Pan-Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF) has given reasons why a Christian senator from the southern region of the country should be elected as the next senate president of the 10th national assembly. Edwin Clark was once a councillor in 1953 and a commissioner in the Government of the Midwest, minister under General Yakubu Gowon and senator in the Second Republic. Stating why a Christian from the South should be the next senate president, Clark said the national assembly should work to unite the country and ensure that citizens trust one another. He went on to say that it’s time to heal the land, and in so doing, what he expects of the 10th Senate is to give the position of the senate president to a Christian senator from the southern part of the country. He said, “It is your duty as the legislative arm of government to produce during your term, a united country where the citizens genuinely trust one another, and regard themselves as equal citizens and as brothers and sisters,” he said. “It is time to heal our land, and in so doing, what I expect of the 10th Senate is to give the position of the senate president to a Christian senator from the southern part of the country.” Recall that Godswill Akpabio, a former minister of Niger Delta Affairs, was chosen by its party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) to be senate president but Abdulaziz Yari, a former governor of Zamfara, and Orji Uzor Kalu, chief whip of the senate, have insisted on contesting the position with him.
Former governor of Akwa Ibom State, Godswill Akpabio Clark also condemned Nasir el-Rufai, former governor of Kaduna over his comment that the APC used religion to win the presidential election. Clark said, “The insensitive, irresponsible, uncouth and arrogant statement credited to Nasir El-Rufai, on his plan to impose the Islamic religion on the country, lasting for the next 20 years, is still causing bad blood,” he added. “It is unthinkable how someone who describes himself as a leader, could utter such a statement, except to cause confusion, which is very obvious that he benefits from such confusion. Because there is no other way of explaining such crass behaviour and statement.” A few days ago, el-Rufai came under fire for saying that religion was used to win the 2023 presidential election and God made Asiwaju victorious. Nasir el-Rufai, former governor of Kaduna state The former governor said, “Religion was used, God made Asiwaju victorious. What we did in Kaduna has now been done in the country. No liar who is going to contest using the politics of Christianity will ever win any election again. Peter Obi tried and see how he ended. We’ve tackled it. “Since Asiwaju won the election CAN has been quiet. That is how there will be peace in the country. If this is done again and again and again everything will….. wallahi (swearing) that was what we did. And myself and others, we think we have done our part, Asiwaju has won the election, so our job is done. Our appeal to you is to pray for him to find good people to work with him.”

Claire who reacted to this defended the dance saying that it is a sort of coping strategy for her. According to her, she cannot lose herself to her sorrows and dancing helps her deal with grief. She wrote: “I am writing just to say a few things, yes I posted a dance video. Not because I am happy, but because I have to find a way to deal with my grief. I am not alone; I have 3 children to take care of by myself. I can’t lose myself because I need to be strong for them. And in Europe, you deal with mental health in a lot of ways, and dancing was always my passion. So, excuse me, but please just think before you write something or put it on YouTube. Thank you”

Nigerian lady reveals why she stopped being a Christian
A Nigerian lady has taken to Twitter to explain why she stopped being a Christian. In tweets @Ni_Foh shared, she stated that one of the biggest reasons she stopped being a Christian was finally accepting that God had favourites regardless of how much you prayed or believed.
She also recounted some of the life challenges she prayed to God for, which in her own words “never got answered”. Read her tweets below… “I can’t lie, away from the things I saw inside the Church, one of the biggest reasons I stopped being Christian was finally accepting that God had favourites and that regardless of how much you prayed or believed, if you’re not a fave, you’re not a fave. “As a child I was always told that I should pray and ask God for whatever I wanted and he will answer me. I was a child and I didn’t have much to ask for but every single thing I prayed and asked for, I never got. Not one single thing that I prayed for. “Heck it’s almost like everytime I went ahead to pray for something I really wanted, God would take away my chances of getting that thing. It’s funny but I was heartbroken a lot because I truly believed that God was supposed to love everyone equally or so I thought. “Growing up with unaswered prayers after unaswered prayers, it finally hit me one day. “I will show mercy to whom I will show mercy.” Meaning say if you nor be fave, nothing for you oh. If you like pray from now reach 500 years. Nothing for you. My whole life in church was a lie. “You mean I had been praying and fasting and begging God all my life and he wasn’t answering me simply because he had picked his favorites and apparently I wasn’t among. Lmao, when you think about it, it’s quite cruel The gamble of hoping on a God that cannot be bothered about you. “It’s why I don’t like being prayed for, infancy it fills me with rage everytime somebody I care about or respect starts to pray for me but I respond because maybe they might be a fave and if they ask on my behalf, he fit manage consider me. Asides that, I don’t bother. “The first time my heart broke was when they gave my admission slots to someone else because my Dad wouldn’t pay a bribe. It pained me to my heart because I had prayed but beyond praying, I put in the work and smashed that exam and yet he let them cheat me. “It’s why I don’t fear death or dying. Interesting Abi?? It’s because I pray for it and know say as usual, he nor go Kuku answer me. So maybe I’ll be here for a long time. I don’t pray anymore and I wish people stopped talking to me about God and his supposed love. “Plus if he cannot answers my mother who wholeheartedly believes in him and lives her life for him, then you know say no hope for me. It breaks my heart to watch my mother pray as believe so much in a God that doesn’t rate her. One Angel fit don burn my file sef but we move sha.”
