Veteran comedian, Alibaba, reveals that Mark Angel is one of the highest earning comedian in Nigerian and earns as high as $300,000 every month. He states that many people doubt the wealth of Mark Angel owing to his simple appearance until they hear how much Facebook and YouTube pay him every month. Although many people are in doubt, the people who pay for the services Mark Angel and other comedians offer are well aware of the value they provide. He further explained how he earned his first 1.6 million Naira job was as far back in 1995 for a brand tour and since then many people have unlocked wealth in comedy. Veteran comedian, AY Makun speaks on why he doesn’t consider himself to be among the top 10 funniest comedians in Nigeria. In a recent chat with Toke Makinwa, the stand-up comedian spoke on the usual tendency among fans to make comparisons between actors, and comedians.

AY Makun. According to him, he would wholeheartedly accept it when someone tells him he is among the best comic acts in the country. He said his acceptance would be motivated by his recognition that artists differ, and he knows that he has his fan base and people who are willing to pay for his contents so he can put food on his table. AY, speaking further in the Toke Moments podcast, added that if someone is to ask him to mention the top 10 funniest comedians, he wouldn’t put his name. Watch him speak in the video below:

Lande’s wife in tears over allegations of being responsible for comedian’s depression (Video)

The wife of the popular content creator, Ijoba Lande, breaks down in tears over allegations of pressuring her husband into depression.

This comes days after the mother of two cried out on Instagram about the disappearance of Ijoba Lande until he was found some days later. Speculations, however, circulated about Lande’s wife pushed the comedian into depression with the responsibilities of her two children from a past marriage. In a live session on Instagram, the teary woman clarified the allegations while stating that she never frustrated him nor pushed him into depression. Bovi reveals why he’s not worried about the rise, acceptance of skit makers at the expense of stand-up comedians

Popular comedian and actor, Bovi Ugboma has played down speculations that the rise and acceptance of skit makers in the entertainment industry will affect him and other stand-up comedian in Nigeria.
Speaking with Sunday Scoop anchored by The PUNCH, Bovi noted that skit makers and stand-up comedians are of different genres with different markets.

Noting that the two fields should collaborate instead of competiting, Bovi added: “Why should it (rise of skit makers) affect them (stand-up comedians)? They are two different crafts. We should learn to be more collaborative instead of competitive.
“Anytime I get that question, I get worried because what they do is online, and there is a market for it. What we do is offline and there is a market for it as well.
“They have a different genre, so we should encourage them and the fact that they can make money out of it. The fact that it is now a booming business is a plus to the entertainment industry.”
On what distinguishes him in the entertainment industry, the comedian said, “I just do me and I make sure I always challenge and reinvent myself. I also constantly evolve so people would not get bored. If one does not reinvent oneself, people will find one predictable.”
