A Nigerian father takes a unique approach to enforcing value in his daughter who has a record for breaking things by making her sign a contract while handing a new torchlight to her. A Facebook user identified as Auwal Mustapha Imam has implemented a contract that requires his daughter, Nana to responsibly maintain the new torchlight he purchased for her.

The terms of the contract state that Nana must ensure the proper functioning of the torchlight for at least a year, or he will not provide her with another one. The father explained that he used to buy a new torchlight approximately every two weeks because Nana consistently mishandled and damaged them. He highlighted the importance of the torchlight, especially during nights when electricity was unavailable, and Nana needed it for trips to the toilet. To instil responsibility, the father has set clear expectations through this unique contract arrangement signed by both of them.
Sharing the post, he wrote; “I have just signed a bond/agreement with my daughter Nana and handed over a new torchlight to her. The agreement involves maintaining the torchlight for more than a year, and in the event it get spoilt in her hand before one year, I will not buy another one.
Before this time, I used to buy torchlight almost every two weeks, but she mishandled and spoiled them. She had to beg for agreement before I agreed to buy a new one. She use the torchlight at night when lights are off and she wants to go to toilet.
The signing ceremony had in attendance my wife and other witnesses. Is about responsibility. She need to be responsible!”

Arsenal’s coach, Mikel Arteta celebrating a win. Source: Getty Nelson had serious interest from AC Milan and Brighton before committing his future to his boyhood club, although there is the option for a year further and it’s thought that Mikel Arteta played a key role in negotiations to convince him to stay. The footballer made a number of valuable contributions to the Gunners’ title charge last season and has been rewarded with a new deal thought to be worth £100,000 per week over four years. 23-year-old Nelson struggled for minutes in his first full season under Mikel Arteta. He was allowed to leave on loan to Feyenoord in 2021-22, but his form since returning to his parent club has helped the manager make up his mind. The Londoner, who was still in primary school when he first joined the Gunners’ academy, scored his first goal for the club in 2020 but had to wait until October 2022 to add to it.
Kylian Mbappe celebrating a goal. Source: Getty This means that come January 1, 2024, Mbappe will be free to negotiate personal terms with other clubs ahead of a free transfer in the summer of 2024. Speaking to AFP in June, he said; “I have NEVER discussed any contract renewal with PSG. The board has been informed since July 15th, 2022 of my decision not to extend beyond 2024 and the letter sent was only meant to confirm what I already told them.” While Real Madrid have long been considered the Frenchman’s most likely suitor and came close to signing him last year, it’s been gathered that Mbappe is demanding a staggering €240m-per-year contract to join any club this summer. The forward has also been linked with Liverpool, but it is unlikely that the Reds will be willing to match the Frenchman’s salary expectations.

Adrien Rabiot celebrates a goal. Source: Getty Last summer, Erik ten Hag agreed a fee with Juventus for Rabiot but the deal fell through after an agreement over personal terms could not be reached. Eventually, United went on to sign Casemiro from Real Madrid. With the Mason Mount deal on the rocks and Rabiot committing to another year in Serie A, Manchester United may now turn to Brighton and Hove Albion’s Moises Caicedo. The Ecuadorian was interested in leaving Roberto De Zerbi’s club in January but a move elsewhere failed to materialise. The 21-year-old has a price tag of £80m but it is understood that United would be open to reaching this figure due to his potential.
