Reality star, Neo Akpofure has reacted after his colleague, Phyna‘s dragged him for calling her razz while in the Big Brother house. NigezieXtreme reported that Phyna dragged Neo on her new podcast, “Spill with Phyna”, citing her colleague’s verbal abuse of her on national television.

Neo Akpofure Phyna said she was watching the recently concluded season of the “All Stars” when one of the housemates uttered her well-known colloquialism, “Who dey.” Neo, however, urged the housemates to cease using the slang as soon as he heard it because the person who coined it was a razz person he didn’t want to hear about.

Popular Afropop singer, Spyro reacts to Nigerians crucifying him for his performance at a church Christmas carol as he makes his stance as a Christian clear. The music star and the lead pastor of the Harvesters International Christian center, Bolaji Idowu were dragged earlier by Nigerians.

Popular Afrobeats singer, Asake has been dragged online by Nigerians for sending only N5M to the ailing policewoman in the viral ‘Help me Help me’ video that he used in one of his songs. The policewoman, known as Mrs Helen, went viral last year after she was ‘kidnapped’ by a motorist.

Asake whose attention was drawn to the incident, sent her 5 million naira, but a Nigerian has deemed it small. One netizen identified as Dr. Penking opined that the singer had made loads of cash from that song, and it is unfair that he would send her such a paltry sum. He wrote: “Asake used this woman’s audio “Epp Me. Epp me. E dey carry me go where I no know” in his hit song PBUY without any settlement . That song made over 500 million in streams . A 26-year-old driver identified as Samuel Meyiwa has been charged with embezzling company money for sports betting. The charges were brought before the Yaba Magistrate’s Court in Lagos this Thursday. The Lagos State Police arraigned Meyiwa, who was employed as a driver for a company in Bariga, accusing him of using company funds for sports betting activities. According to the prosecutor, Meyiwa had been employed in March and was entrusted with the responsibility of selling sachet water with a company truck. Shockingly, he allegedly diverted a portion of the proceeds from his daily sales to fuel his gambling habit, unbeknownst to his employer. The complainant revealed that Meyiwa’s suspicious activities came to light in October when he failed to return N88,000 from the sale of sachet water, claiming that customers owed him. This deceptive behaviour persisted, and in November, Meyiwa reportedly drove off with sachet water worth N300,000. Instead of fulfilling his responsibilities, he allegedly used the funds for sports betting and, after losing, absconded. Efforts to locate Meyiwa proved futile until he was spotted working in another company, leading to his subsequent arrest by the police. The prosecutor, Oriabure, detailed the charges against Meyiwa, stating that the alleged offense occurred between March and November 2023 at Okusanya Street, off Adebayo Road, Bariga, in violation of Section 287 (7) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015. The charge read; “That you Samuel Meyiwa, sometime March to November 2023 at Bariga in the Yaba Magisterial District did steal the sum of three hundred thousand naira cash from Freedom Pure Water Company situated at No 10 NG Okusanya street off Adebayo Road, Bariga, where you were employed as a driver and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 287 (7) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.” During the court proceedings, Meyiwa pleaded not guilty to the one-count charge. In response, the magistrate granted him bail in the sum of N100,000 with two responsible sureties required to provide the same amount. The case was subsequently adjourned till January 25, 2024, for trial.

Up-and-coming Nigerian singer, OdumoduBlvck illustrates the backlash he is faced with at the hands of social media users to the British rapper, Skepta. It would be recalled that following the release of his most recent song, ‘Cast’, the singer was bashed for being misogynistic with the lyrics.

The lyrics partly said, “If she no fuck o, if she no suck who go pay for her wig and hand bag?”. In a recent development, OdumoduBlvck was seen having a chitchat with Skepta, expressing how the Nigerians have been on the case since the song. “You know wetin dem dey call small gen for Nigeria? The charges stem from her threatening to set herself and her relatives ablaze during a heated family dispute on November 18, 2023. Waithera, who admitted to creating a disturbance in a manner likely to cause a breach of peace, appeared before Senior Principal Magistrate Gerald Mutiso.

In her statement to the court, she expressed remorse for her actions and attributed the outburst to the depression she has been grappling with since losing her job. According to court records, the confrontation unfolded when Waithera returned home in an inebriated state and engaged in a quarrel with her mother, accusing her of neglect since the loss of her job in 2020. The accused lamented feeling unloved in her own home, escalating the argument into chaos. Amidst the confrontation, Waithera reportedly dismissed the intervention of her young brother, took a matchbox, and retreated to her room, where she threatened to set herself ablaze. Distraught, her mother and brother pleaded with her to reconsider, eventually alerting the authorities, who promptly arrested Waithera. During her court appearance, Waithera’s emotional state was palpable as she recounted the distress that led to the regrettable incident. Her brother, listed as a witness in the case, will only testify if she chooses to deny the charges before conviction and sentencing.
