Well-known Nigerian Afrobeat artist Burna Boy has thrown his support behind chef, Hilda Baci as she’s set to break the Guinness World Record. The Nigerian Chef, Hilda Baci is currently on the “longest cooking marathon” to break the Guinness World Records.

The first woman to hold the Guinness World Reords is an Indian called Lata who reportedly cooked for 87 minutes, forty-five seconds. Chef Hilda Baci is set to break that record as she sails into the 84th hour. In the midst of her cooking, a lot of Nigerians have shown her massive support on social media pages and on grounds. Burna Boy has also taken to his Twitter page to throw his support behind Hilda Baci. He twweted, “Go Hilda. We are rooting for you to break that record . Current record holder, Lata Tondon wishes Hilda Baci goodluck

Lata Tondon, the current cooking record holder has wished Nigerian chef Hilda Baci goodluck on her quest to break her record. Before Lata became a Guinness World Record holder, the longest cooking marathon was previously held by Rickey Lumpkin from Los Angeles, who cooked for a straight 68 hours, 30 minutes and one second in 2018. Lata surpassed his record by over 20 hours and cooked more than 1,600 kilograms of food grains, made 400 vada pavs, 250 sandwiches and a host of other delicacies over four days. The food was served to over 20,000 visitors, including children from orphanages, blind schools and senior citizens from old age homes. The chef and environmentalist used the platform to encourage people to plant over 17,000 saplings too. Sending in her support for Hilda who is few hours away from breaking her record, Lata wrote; “All the best Hilda. Hope to see you on the official site of the Guinness Book Of World Record soon!!!”

A throwback video of the famous Nigerian chef, Hilda Baci speaking on her weight loss journey sparks inspiration to many. Hilda who is on the quest to break the Guinness World Records for the longest cooking time revealed that she used to weigh more than she wanted.

In a throwback video, she revealed that she used to be 110kg and lost about 30 kg to achieve her desired body. Hilda Baci further blamed herself for being responsible for the need to undergo a tedious weight loss because of her unhealthy eating habit.

“Some of you that just followed me don’t know this but used to be me at a point, I was weighing 110 kg and this is me today at 81 kg. It took me two years to get here; losing weight and getting my desired body wasn’t easy. It took a lot of steps, and now that I have lost weight I have to maintain it so I don’t go back to where I was coming from,” she said. Hilda Baci hits 84-hour mark, less than 3-hours to break Guinness World Records

Hilda Baci, a Nigerian chef and entrepreneur, is currently striving to break the Guinness World Records for the “longest cooking marathon by an individual”. With over 84 hours under her belt, she has less than 3 hours to go to set a new record.

Baci began the competition on Thursday at 4 pm by turning on her cooker. Her goal is to surpass the 87 hours and 45 minutes record set by Lata Tondon, the current Guinness World Record holder and an Indian chef who accomplished the feat in 2019. The event is being live-streamed on YouTube from Amore Gardens in Lekki, Lagos, and various celebrities are in attendance to show their support.
