A pregnant Nigerian woman recently shared her ordeal about landing in the hospital just days after consuming zobo. In a post by @talk2veee, a media influencer, an unnamed Nigerian woman’s hospital experience was revealed through an image shared in the post.

I am grateful for my hospital’s swift response.” Also, thankful to God and my family. Initially, we didn’t attribute it to zobo until later. She further warned fellow pregnant women against consuming zobo for any reason unless their delivery date is imminent. Four dead, 11 hospitalized following pastor’s order to fast until they ‘meet Jesus’

A Kenyan pastor, Makenzie Nthenge has been arrested for the death of four of his church members who were allegedly directed to fast to “meet Jesus.”

On April 14, the police conducted a raid in response to the tip about “ignorant citizens starving to death under the pretext of meeting Jesus after being brainwashed by a suspect, Makenzie Nthenge, a pastor of Good News International Church”. During the operation, four members were discovered dead, and eleven were admitted to the hospital. Of the hospitalized individuals, seven men and four women between the ages of 17 and 49 including three in critical condition. According to Charles Kamau, criminal investigations chief of Malindi sub-county, “The pastor is under arrest after he surrendered because he knew we were looking for him.”

Kamau stated that the pastor has been detained in anticipation of his court hearing on Monday, April 17th. There are rumours of a probable mass burial site in the Shakahola forest, where other devotees might have been interred, and investigators are anticipated to carry on with their search on Saturday. “It is further suspected that there are many victims in the forest land believed to belong to the suspect,” the police report said. According to the local media, Nthenge was apprehended and accused last month following the death of two children from starvation while in the care of their parents. Subsequently, he was granted bail of 100,000 Kenyan shillings ($700).

Hollywood multi-talent, Jamie Foxx was on Tuesday, April 11, taken to a hospital in Atlanta after suffering an undisclosed medical emergency.

A statement released by his daughter, Corinne Foxx, disclosed the Oscar award-winning actor had suffered a “medical complication” that required him to be taken to the hospital. The 55-year-old had been filming ‘Back In Action’ in Atlanta with actress, Cameron Diaz, as recently as Monday. Azpilicueta hospitalized after scary head injury during match against Southampton

Chelsea’s captain, Cesar Azpilicueta is now under medical supervision after suffering a head injury during his team’s 1-0 defeat to Southampton on Saturday, February 18. The defender was hurt by a high boot as he challenged for the ball with Sekou Mara. The game was stopped for at least 10 minutes as Azpilicueta received treatment from the club’s medical staff. Azpilicueta was given oxygen but was able to wave to fans as he finally departed. Giving an update on the player, Chelsea’s coach Graham Potter told reporters that he is awake and speaking with his wife in the hospital. Potter said; “He’s in hospital. Chief minister of a north Indian state, Bhagwant Mann, has been hospitalized few days after he drank water from a river to prove to the masses that it’s clean.
In the viral video, the minister was seen downing a cup of water he had fetched from the Kali Bein river in Punjab’s Sultanpur Lodhi.

After drinking the water to prove it’s cleanliness to the masses, the minister has reportedly fallen sick with severe stomach ache days after his audacious public display, at his home in Chandigarh city and had to be airlifted to Delhi to receive medical attention.

AKSU student hospitalized after being allegedly set ablaze by community resident amid fierce argument

Tension heightened in Akwa Ibom State University after a 200L student of the department of Philosophy identified as Enwongo Akpan got set ablaze by an indigene following a verbal altercation.
Reports held that the incident occurred on Sunday, 10th July when the lad got into an argument with the indigene who sells fuel in the area and as things got intense, the undisclosed community resident poured fuel on him and ignited a spark of fire causing the comrade to sustain severe injuries.

Akpan was admitted to a nearby hospital for immediate treatment but was later transferred to the University of Uyo Teaching Hospital (UUTH) for proper treatment.
The school authorities and Police are said to have swung into immediate action.
Sharing the story, a Facebook user identified as Remedy Effiong wrote:
“LIVE: ENWONGO AKPAN WILL SURVIVE.
It’s a sad Sunday afternoon in the academic community of the Akwa Ibom State University, Obio Akpa Campus, Oruk Anam LGA as Comrade Enwongo Akpan, my friend, a 200 Level student of Philosophy, Faculty of Arts was a victim of an accident where a road side fuel retailer poured him fuel and set him ablaze after an argument on the fuel been adulterated.
Enwongo has now responded to treatment at the Mercy Hospital, Abak and in the next few minutes will be transfered to the UUTH, Uyo for more adequate attention.
I personally appreciate the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Nse Essien, The Dean Student Division, Dr. Monday E Dickson and Hon. Sampson Idiong for their swift response as they’ve assured immediate security actions against the culprit.
I call on my colleagues and Comrades to keep calm as the Vice Chancellor, Dean of Students and Village Head are headed to Udoidiong junction to calm the situation on ground.
