The trio was reportedly invited for questioning regarding the management of funds donated by well-meaning Nigerians for Mr Ibu’s medical treatment. Actress Doris Ogala first broke the news on Wednesday night, revealing that Jasmine and Mr Ibu’s sons were detained at Alagbon Police Station over allegations that Jasmine had transferred a substantial sum, estimated at N300 million, from the donation account to her personal account.

The funds were intended for Mr Ibu’s medical expenses, as the actor recently underwent surgery resulting in the amputation of one of his legs. The situation escalated when it was suggested that Mr Ibu’s wife, Stella Maris Okafor, instigated the police involvement. Stella Maris allegedly demanded transparency and accountability regarding the donated funds and accused Jasmine of diverting the money for personal use. It was further claimed that Stella Maris intended to use the funds to purchase a new house. “Mr. Ibu’s wife alleged that Jasmine moved N300 million out of the account. Ibu’s wife allegedly wanted them to buy her a new house from the money contributed so far for Ibu’s treatments. That’s why she arrested Jasmine,”Doris Ogala said. In response to the unfolding events, Emeka Chochoo clarified that the police invitation was not tantamount to an arrest and emphasized that the police had summoned Jasmine, Daniel, and Val to inquire about Mr Ibu’s account. Val, however, was reportedly excluded from the situation as he had recently returned to the country and was unaware of the ongoing developments. “Yes, they were all invited by the police. I won’t call it arrest; the police invited them over Mr Ibu’s account. However, Val is left out as he knows nothing about what’s been happening. He just returned to the country,” Emeka Chochoo told punch. “I have not been able to reach any of them,” the ex-manager added. The controversy surrounding the management of the donated funds took an unexpected turn, considering that Mr Ibu’s wife and adopted daughter had previously joined forces to appeal for financial support from Nigerians. The plea came after Mr Ibu underwent surgery, and the actor’s health challenges prompted an outpouring of generosity from well-wishers.

Uche Maduagwu sees Mr Ibu’s wife in unexpected place

Nollywood actor, Uche Maduagwu, could not believe his eyes when he spotted Mr Ibu’s wife sleeping at an unexpected area at the hospital. In the sad video, the heartbroken woman covered her face as the actor filmed her while consoling her and promising her that things would get better. The video showed her staying alone at an empty hall and the actor revealed that she sadly sleeps at that position all night just to be able to cater for her husband who’s down at the hospital. “It’s okay, don’t cry. A source close to the family claimed that even before Mr Ibu underwent his surgeries, his wife had been vocal about wanting to purchase the latest iPhone and acquire new cars. Why Mr Ibu’s leg was amputated

Emeka Chochoo, the ex-manager of renowned Nollywood actor John Okafor, popularly known as Mr Ibu, has disclosed the reason for the amputation of one of the actor’s legs. The revelation came after it was reported that Mr Ibu underwent seven successful surgeries, including the amputation, due to an infection that affected the arteries at the ankle. According to Chochoo, who had been Mr Ibu’s manager for over a decade, the actor is responding well to treatment and is gradually healing.

Despite the challenges, the medical team has been working diligently to address various health issues affecting the actor. Chochoo disclosed that the amputation became a necessary step in Mr Ibu’s medical journey due to an infection that impacted one of the arteries at the ankle. Unfortunately, the condition went undetected until it reached a critical stage, leading to the difficult decision to amputate the leg. “The doctors are treating everything one after the other. What led to the amputation of one of his legs was an infection that affected one of the arteries at the ankle. “Blood wasn’t flowing into the leg, which was not detected on time. When it was, it had become too late, causing the doctors to decide on the amputation,” Chochoo explained. He also mentioned that the surgery took place in Nigeria, and while Mr Ibu is currently receiving care in the country, plans are underway to fly him abroad for further treatment. “The surgery was done in Nigeria. He will soon be flown out of the country for further treatment but for now, he is being cared for in Nigeria,” Mr. Ibu ex-manager added.
