Barella extended Inter’s lead in the second half with a finish from Lautaro Martinez’s pass. Despite Napoli’s efforts, including a near miss by Victor Osimhen and a save by Sommer, Inter remained firm. Inter sealed the victory with Thuram tapping in a cross from Juan Cuadrado.
Why Italian FA banned 30,000 whistle protest against Lukaku by Inter fans
Inter fans have been banned from using whistles against Roma striker Romelu Lukaku in their upcoming match on Sunday. A total of 30,000 whistles were initially planned by Inter ultras to be distributed to Inter supporters who would come to watch the match at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza. Inter ultras is the organized group of passionate Inter Milan supporters known for their extreme loyalty to the club. They are the fans who often attend matches to show unwavering support and create an electric atmosphere in the stadium.

In March 2022, Fiorentina fans used 10,000 whistles to disrupt Dusan Vlahovic during his return to the Stadio Artemio Franchi with Juventus. Inter ultras intended to organize a similar protest, but the authorities have banned it. Football Italia said the decision to ban the anti-Lukaku whistles was made during a meeting between Roma, Inter, and security authorities to discuss safety measures for the match. The Italian sports outlet reported that Roma did not specifically request the ban, as it was an exclusive decision by the authorities. Following the whistle ban, the authorities have issued warning of a potential disciplinary action should Inter supporters go ahead with their planned action against Lukaku. Lukaku ended his loan spell at Inter last season and was almost up for a permanent move to the Italian giants side but had a change of mind mid-way. His hopes playing for Juventus failed, forcing interest from Jose Mourinho’s Roma.
Inter Milan pull out of race to sign Lukaku
Inter Milan have reportedly informed Chelsea that they no longer wish to pursue the signing of striker Romelu Lukaku. The Belgian forward arrived back at Chelsea for his second stint for a whopping £97.5 million back in 2021 from Inter. But after just one difficult season back at the Blues he was shipped off back to the Serie A club on loan last season. Romelu Lukaku at the 2023 Champions League final for Inter Milan. Source: Getty Lukaku scored 14 goals in 37 appearances during his loan spell with Inter last season and helped them to reach the Champions League final. Inter were desperate to keep the 30-year-old forward but they have so far been refusing to meet Chelsea’s asking price, despite it being vastly reduced from what they paid for him two years ago. They launched a second bid of £27.5m this week with the Blues demanding £34m, but have now allegedly pulled out of a potential deal. It was gathered that Inter Milan is furious after discovering advisers working on behalf of Lukaku had held secret talks with Juventus. While such conversations are legal and standard at this stage of negotiations, Inter have been left disappointed by the situation as they believed Lukaku’s only interest was returning to the Nerazzurri, a message insiders insist came from the player himself.

Inter Milan CEO confirms Manchester United is interested in Onana
Inter Milan CEO, Beppe Marotta has confirmed that Manchester United has approached the club to sign goalkeeper, Andre Onana. David de Gea’s contract at Old Trafford has now expired, making the Spaniard a free agent, although the Red Devils will continue to hold talks with him over a potential new deal. Inter Milan CEO who spoke at the Gran Gala in Italy last night, said while Manchester United have expressed an interest in Andre Onana, he is yet to receive an offer. Marotta said; “Manchester United expressed a particular interest, but that needs to blossom into making a proposal over the next few days. Once that happens, both Inter and the player will make a careful evaluation.” United will soon have to make a decision on a bid for Onana but also have the matter of De Gea’s future to resolve. Source: Getty De Gea had agreed to a contract extension which would have seen his wages drop almost half, down to £200,000 a week, but United later withdrew that offer and have attempted to convince the goalkeeper to accept an even-greater pay cut. That latest proposal remains unsigned and De Gea is now set to become a free agent, with his United contract expiring on Friday evening. Even if De Gea can be convinced to stay at Old Trafford, United could still pursue a move for Onana, with manager Erik ten Hag keep to find high-level competition in goal. 27-year-old Onana moved to San Siro from Ajax last July, and he impressed football lovers at Inter during the 2022-23 campaign, helping them to reach the Champions League final, in addition to lifting the Italian Super Cup and Coppa Italia title. Onana featured on 41 occasions for his Italian side during the recent season, keeping 19 clean sheets in the process.

Inter is reported to have already lined up possible replacements for Skriniar, with Fiorentina’s Nikola Milenkovic among those to have been linked with a switch to San Siro.

N’Golo Kante has already finalized a move to the Middle East, joining Al-Ittihad on a free transfer. As for incomings, Chelsea confirmed the signing of Christopher Nkunku this week, having signed an agreement for the Frenchman before the end of the season. Neville lands new coaching job 8 days after being sacked by Inter Miami

Canada head coach Herdman said in a statement; “Both Phil and Richard bring with them winning experiences at the highest levels and have worked with some of the premier leagues top managers during their careers.

They now have the opportunity for their first trophy since 2000 when they play Panama in the semi-finals of the Nations League where the winners face the United States or Mexico for the trophy. After ending his playing career with Everton in 2013, Neville moved into coaching and had spells as an assistant with Manchester United and Valencia before taking up the post of head coach with England Women’s National team, winning the SheBelieves Cup in 2019 and finishing fourth at the 2019 World Cup. Inter Miami came calling in 2021 but his time in the MLS came to an end earlier this month. The 46-year-old was sacked by long-time friend and Inter Miami owner, David Beckham, following a dismal start to the MLS season, which saw the Sunshine State-based team win just five games from 16, leaving them bottom of the Eastern Conference.
Messi spurns Barcelona and Saudi Arabia to join Inter Miami in MLS
Lionel Messi is reportedly set to play for Major League Soccer side Inter Miami, a move that will see him reunite with old friends from Barcelona. The Argentine legend had received lucrative offers to follow Cristiano Ronaldo to Saudi Arabia this summer, with Al Hilal among his suitors, while Barcelona was also interested in re-signing him.

Many believed he would follow in the footsteps of his old rival Cristiano Ronaldo and sign a lucrative deal with a club in Saudi Arabia. The Saudi Arabian government reportedly prepared a deal worth around £320 million a year for him to join Cristiano Ronaldo in the Middle East. Others thought he would rejoin Barcelona, the club where he emerged as one of the greatest players of all time. But Messi has decided to head to Miami, a city where he already owns a property. Inter Miami is partly owned by David Beckham, one of the few footballers who can rival Messi for global fame. The move also represents a publicity coup for MLS as it continues its push to become a major player in US sports. Inter Milan’s Denzel Dumfries pulls down Porto star Galeno’s shorts during Champions League match
FC Porto star, Galeno, had a red-face moment last night after his shorts was pulled down by Inter Milan’s Denzel Dumfries in a Champions League match.
The Portuguese side started off the second-leg of the Round of 16 match, hoping to overturn a one-goal deficit from their first-leg clash at the San Siro. Brazilian winger Galeno was a constant thorn in the paw of Inter Milan and that pushed Denzel Dumfries into doing the unthinkable to stop his attacking play in the second half. With Galeno pushing forward, the Dutch defender tried stopping him by pulling his shorts down from his waist, exposing his Y-fronts for all to see.
While Dumfries responded to the incident like nothing had happened, Galeno wasn’t quite so impressed as he appealed for the Inter full-back to be booked. The match eventually ended in a 0-0 draw, but it was enough for Inter Milan to secure their passage into the quarter-finals of the Champions League having won 1-0 in the first leg.
