Three-year old tweet predicting Osimhen will win African Best if he joins Napoli causes buzz online
A three-year old tweet suggesting Victor Osimhen will win CAF player of the Year if he moves to Napoli has resurfaced online. Osimhen on Monday night bagged his first African Player of the Year award in Marrakech, Morocco, defeating Egypt’s Mohamed Salah, and Morocco’s Achraf Hakimi. But it seems someone already saw Osimhen’s future three years ago, even before he made the big move to Napoli. A tweet by a certain Dumnodi Okonta on Twitter, dated June 30, 2020, predicted that Osimhen would win the African Best Player award if he joined Napoli.

Arnaut Danjuma joins Everton on season-long loan
English-side Everton have completed the signing of Dutch winger Arnaut Danjuma on a season-long loan from Villarreal. The 26-year-old spent the second half of the 2022-23 campaign on loan at Tottenham Hotspur, representing the North London side on 12 occasions, scoring twice in the process. Danjuma had rejected a move to Everton in January because of uncertainty over the managerial situation. The Dutch footballer added; “I hope to bring a lot of goals and a lot of assists. Benjamin Mendy joins Lorient after being found non-guilty of rape
Former Manchester City defender Benjamin Mendy has signed a two-year deal with French club Lorient after almost two years of not playing professional matches. This is coming after he was cleared of one count of rape and one count of attempted rape following a retrial earlier this month. The left-back had also been previously cleared of six counts of rape at his initial trial in January. Aaronson joins Union Berlin on loan from Leeds
American footballer, Brenden Aaronson has joined Union Berlin on loan from Leeds United until the end of the 2023-24 season. After a season where he was unable to save Leeds United from relegation to the Championship, the U.S. international will now hope to showcase his quality in the Bundesliga and Champions League.

Somehow, you always heard something about them. “A year ago, I wouldn’t have believed that I would be here and able to play in the Champions League with Union. I’m looking forward to the year ahead with joy and confidence and want to help us have another successful season.” Neither Leeds nor Union Berlin indicated if there is a purchase option in their deal for the 22-year-old. 22-year-old Aaronson made 36 Premier League appearances for Leeds last season after joining from Red Bull Salzburg for a fee close to 25 million pounds ($32 million) in the summer of 2022. He is joining Berlin on loan after the German club qualified for the Champions League for the first time. His brother Paxten also plays in Germany for Frankfurt.

He is the third player to leave the club on a season-long loan following relegation. Diego Llorente and Robin Koch joined Roma and Eintracht Frankfurt, respectively, in similar deals earlier this week. Former Norwich boss Daniel Farke has been hired as head coach and charged with the responsibility of trying to guide the club back to the Premier League. Aaronson debuted for the US Men’s National Team (USMNT) in 2020 and established himself as a key player during World Cup qualifying, playing in midfield and as a winger. Nigerian-born footballer Chiedozie Ogbene joins Luton Town
Nigerian-born Republic of Ireland player, Chiedozie Ogbene has become the first new signing for Premier League newcomers Luton Town. 26-year-old Chiedozie Ogbene will join Luton Town on July 1 when his current contract with Rotherham United ends. He scored eight goals in 39 games as Rotherham finished 19th in the Championship last season.
