Super Eagles coach to drop 16 players from provisional list to CAF
Super Eagles coach, Jose Peseiro, will drop 16 players from his 41-man provisional squad for the upcoming African Cup of Nations. According to a source close to the team, the move aims to streamline the team for the tournament scheduled from January 13 to February 11, 2024, in six Ivoirian cities. Teams are allowed to register up to 27 players for the tournament, but Peseiro is opting for a “manageable 25” to ensure tactical flexibility during the tournament. The team is scheduled for friendlies against Burkina Faso and DR Congo in a pre-games competition in Abu Dhabi before heading to Cote d’Ivoire.

Coach Jose Peseiro has unveiled Nigeria’s provisional 40-man list for the 2024 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Cote d’Ivoire. Maduka Okoye, Odion Ighalo and Leon Balogun are among notable names missing in the shortlist to CAF for the continental competition. Balogun has been a regular in the Super Eagles since 2014, while Okoye was the team’s goalkeeper in the 2021 AFCON. Odion Ighalo on the other hand, recently returned to the Super Eagles squad, but has been dropped for the tournament.

Fast rising rapper, Tochuckwu Ojogwu, best known as Odumodublvck, has ranked the top 5 Nigerian rappers of all time. During an interview with Beat 99.9FM, they asked the rapper to list the top Nigerian rappers.
Odumodublvck Topping his list is MI Abaga, closely followed in second place by Mode Nine. Jesse Jagz, Vector and Naeto C completes the list. He claimed that MI Abaga comes first place by persuading people that rap music can be melodic. Odumodublvck also performed a few of the aforementioned rappers’ hit songs.

Victor Osimhen makes 30-man list for CAF Awards 2023
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has unveiled nominees for its 2023 awards, with Victor Osimhen as one of the stand out names. The Nigerian striker is reaching out for all the awards possible for his sensational form this year. The 2023 awards ceremony will take place on December 11, in Marrakech, Morocco. Osimhen who has been impressing for Napoli, finds himself among the 30 players nominated for the continental title of CAF African Player of the Year.
