Inter fans have been banned from using whistles against Roma striker Romelu Lukaku in their upcoming match on Sunday. A total of 30,000 whistles were initially planned by Inter ultras to be distributed to Inter supporters who would come to watch the match at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza. Inter ultras is the organized group of passionate Inter Milan supporters known for their extreme loyalty to the club. They are the fans who often attend matches to show unwavering support and create an electric atmosphere in the stadium.

In March 2022, Fiorentina fans used 10,000 whistles to disrupt Dusan Vlahovic during his return to the Stadio Artemio Franchi with Juventus. Inter ultras intended to organize a similar protest, but the authorities have banned it. Football Italia said the decision to ban the anti-Lukaku whistles was made during a meeting between Roma, Inter, and security authorities to discuss safety measures for the match. The Italian sports outlet reported that Roma did not specifically request the ban, as it was an exclusive decision by the authorities. Following the whistle ban, the authorities have issued warning of a potential disciplinary action should Inter supporters go ahead with their planned action against Lukaku. Lukaku ended his loan spell at Inter last season and was almost up for a permanent move to the Italian giants side but had a change of mind mid-way. His hopes playing for Juventus failed, forcing interest from Jose Mourinho’s Roma.

Inter were desperate to keep the 30-year-old forward but they have so far been refusing to meet Chelsea’s asking price, despite it being vastly reduced from what they paid for him two years ago. They launched a second bid of £27.5m this week with the Blues demanding £34m, but have now allegedly pulled out of a potential deal. It was gathered that Inter Milan is furious after discovering advisers working on behalf of Lukaku had held secret talks with Juventus. While such conversations are legal and standard at this stage of negotiations, Inter have been left disappointed by the situation as they believed Lukaku’s only interest was returning to the Nerazzurri, a message insiders insist came from the player himself.

There have been some other footage of the two outside the venue of the wedding ceremony holding hands and walking together. A lot of fans have reacted to the photos and videos that have hit online as many say it is not a coincidence.

Martinez, 25, married Agustina Gandolfo, an Argentine model. She is one year older than the striker. Lukaku was a popular figure with the Italian giants before he was lured back to Stamford Bridge for a second spell in the summer of 2021 in a blockbuster £97.5million move. But after struggling to live up to expectations, the 29-year-old was shipped back out to the Serie A outfit on loan before the start of the 2022/23 campaign. The Belgian footballer who has scored just five times in 17 appearances for Inter, has also been plagued by injuries this season. Although The Athletic reported that the Italian titans have not completely closed the door on keeping Lukaku beyond this season, it’s understood that the finances that would be involved in extending the agreement they have with Chelsea would make doing so difficult. 
Marotta has now confirmed that Lukaku will return to Chelsea this summer. He said; “The loan was for one season so on June 30 regardless of how well he plays, he’ll go back to Chelsea. This has been an unprecedented season. “I’m referring of course to the World Cup. The problems we’ve experienced have been experienced by other clubs too and the players who played at the World Cup. Lukaku is a case in point. [Marcelo] Brozovic isn’t the Brozovic we know. Lukaku hasn’t found the fitness he needs to play his best football. He’s still not at his best or the player we got to see in years gone by.” At Chelsea, Graham Potter is already dealing with an incredibly bloated squad, which he finally appears to be getting to click, while a summer clear-out is needed in order to recoup funds. Lukaku could well be a part of that. 
Potter who was pointing out the need for the club to improve as a team after the huge amount spent during the January transfer window, stated that Lukaku’s mightily underwhelming performances after returning from Inter in 2021 should serve as a warning that splurging on a striker wouldn’t necessarily guarantee an improvement in the attack. He said; “I think we need to improve as a team. If you look back 18 months, from the outside Chelsea wasn’t scoring and they thought they’d spent close to £100 million on a centre-forward [Lukaku] and that would fix all their problems, and it didn’t. “You have to attack better as a team and that’s our challenge – that’s what we need to do. 
“I’d be lying if I could say I could give you a timescale on it. Put it this way, if I could get a month for every time I’ve been asked that question, I’d be here for five years [laughs].” Chelsea spent a massive sum of money across the January and summer transfer windows on up-and-coming players such as Enzo Fernandez and Mykhailo Mudryk, but they have so far failed to remedy their goalscoring problems despite their £600m outlay. Their lack of an out-and-out No.9 was highlighted once again following the goalless draw with Fulham on Friday night, a game in which Kai Havertz was profligate, while Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was left out altogether.
