Nigerian street singer, Naira Marley, has been trending online after a lady who lived close to him shared her experience with the singer. According to the lady, she spent six days in the compound with Naira Marley, but she only got to see his face twice.
She claimed that Naira Marley is not the ‘razz’ man people think he is, adding that what the media portrays about the singer is only a camouflage because of the type of music he releases. She narrated in part: “I shot somewhere he stays and for the 6 days I stayed there he didn’t show up. It was just once because he needed to leave the compound. “Okay twice the second time was because they called his attention so his car so he peeped and said a few words and then he went back inside. “Sometimes the image they portray is for the thing they’re doing it’s for the art they are exhibiting. you don’t expect him to sing such songs and be calm.” Reacting to this, @real_mikeorgan wrote: “Then why is he selling what he’s not to the media? All the rubbish and talks he says and act on the internet is not who he is real life but people are emulating his acts and talks on his videos. Well, believe at your own risk rubbish. You hear little children talk about bmbm and fuk like they are born with it, things they hard from songs and you come here to say that’s not who he his? According to Lil Smart in a video that has gone viral, he was heard saying that the music band did not appreciate him and did nothing for him. He however emphasized that although he still loves Naira Maley, he had to leave because he was still going to be disrespected if he hadn’t left. He said; “I was with Marlian Music, they weren’t appreciating me, they weren’t doing anything. I won’t say because I love Naira, let me not lie to you, I’ve got big love for Naira. I like Naira like say I like woman. But what I’m saying is that I wasn’t appreciated and if it continued that way, they were going to keep downgrading me. I left, I didn’t even go there for them to pay me though, but at least appreciation is good.” Recounting how Marlian Music started, Lil Smart disclosed that they used to have just 1 duplex where all 15 of them used to stay together. However, when Naira Marley started having money and building houses, he never gave him a room to himself but was still sleeping on couches and squatting at people’s houses.
