Amidst the rumour of his music career being cancelled by Nigerians, the controversial singer, Naira Marley shuts down an entire street in Lagos. It would be recalled that the singer was cancelled online after being arrested as a suspect in the death of one of his ex-signees, Mohbad.

In the video making rounds on social media, Naira Marley was seen in a street in Lagos with tons of crowd hailing and praising him. The video has since generated a wave of reactions as many mocked the fruitless outrage at the singer during his arrest and his release from prison.

“Have mercy on us” – Moment Lagos state government seizes traders’ goods displayed along the highway

On Friday, January 5, the Lagos State government took stringent action by seizing goods displayed by traders along major highways. A video circulating online captured the intense moment when traders pleaded for mercy as their goods was being confiscated. The crackdown was executed by special operatives of the Kick Against Indiscipline (KAI) and the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps (LAGESC).

The operation targeted street traders operating on various key routes including Agege Motor road, Old Secretariat GRA Ikeja, Awolowo way, Alausa Secretariat, Agidingbi Jakande road inward LTV 8, Ojodu Berger, and Fagba road. The Commissioner of Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, emphasized the necessity of the enforcement. In his words; ”We cannot be emotional about enforcement. We have severally warned that traders should desist from displaying or selling things on the walkway, setbacks or main road. It defaces the city and majorly for people’s safety. A video that has caused a frenzy online captures the moment a man slumps and falls to the ground as he arrives at his birthday party. The celebrant was about to break into a dance routine, immediately after entering the venue, when he experienced a health issue that caused him to tumble to the ground.
