Popular rapper, Speed Darlington laments after he filled 2,000 naira worth of gas and it finished in a month. The abroad-based musician who has apparently returned to Nigeria lamented over his gas situation.

17-yr-old girl locked up by her father for one month without food in Anambra

The Anambra State Ministry of Women and Social Welfare has rescued a 17-year-old girl from her father, Sunday Ezeh, who allegedly tied her hands and feet, and locked her up for a month without food. Mrs Ify Obinabo, Commissioner for the Ministry, told journalists on Tuesday in Awka that the girl, who hailed from Nise in Awka South Local Government Area is a stepdaughter of the suspect.

Father of the victim, Sunday Ezeh Obinabo said she took the girl to Chukwuemeka Odimegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital, Amaku, Awka, for medical diagnosis and treatment. According to her, some indigenes of Nise area gave a tip-off to the Ministry that one Sunday Ezeh, a traditionalist, allegedly maltreated and locked up his stepdaughter. “Due to the sensitivity of the case, the Ministry collaborated with the local vigilante to rescue the girl and apprehend the accused before handing him over to the police. “The girl sustained a lot of injury in all parts of her body and as a result was billed for emergency surgery in the head. “The surgery was successful and she is recuperating at the paediatrics ward of the teaching hospital, ” she said. The commissioner said that the state had zero tolerance for any form of crime or abuse against children, adding that offenders would be made to face the wrath of the law. She said that the case had been transferred to the Anambra State Police Criminal Investigative Department.
Narrating her ordeal, the 17-year-old girl said that her step father tied her hands and feet and locked her up in a room for one month without food.

The victim receiving treatment “I cannot remember what I did wrong but my father told me I messed up the compound with my poo and that beating me and locking me up without food was my punishment. “He used a Bamboo plank to hit me on the head which was why I had head injury. People around saw the way he was beating me and came to my rescue,” she said. Meanwhile, Ezeh, the accused, said he was only punishing his daughter for her disobedience and for desecrating his compound with poo. According to him, such acts were against his traditional belief and practice. NAN

Arsenal forward Bukayo Saka has won the Premier League’s Player of the Month award for March. Saka was among a six-man shortlist for the award alongside Alexander Isak, Alexis Mac Allister, Tyrone Mings, Mohamed Salah, and Arsenal teammate Leandro Trossard. This is the first time Saka will be winning the award. Mourinho’s assistant banned for a month after rant at match officials

The Italian Football Federation (FIGC) has confirmed that AS Roma’s coach, Jose Mourinho’s assistant, Salvatore Foti has been banned from the touchline for a month. Foti was banned from the touchline for a month after losing his temper after Roma’s defeat to Cremonese in the quarter-finals of the Italian Cup. He is accused of engaging in offensive rants at match officials, threatening behaviour towards the Cremonese manager, and yelling blasphemous insults after he was sent off. The FIGC further revealed that Mourinho’s 34-year-old assistant went to the referee’s dressing room after the game where he indulged in “further offensive expressions in a threatening tone”. This is not the first time that Foti has found himself in hot water. Mourinho was forced to apologize for his assistant’s actions back in April of last year after he mocked Salernitana and told a member of their staff they would soon be relegated. Foti will now miss Serie A games against Empoli, Lecce, and Verona as well as the trip to Cremonese at the end of the month.

Virgil van Dijk out for over a month after suffering hamstring injury

Liverpool coach, Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that one of his defenders, Virgil van Dijk, will be out for “more than a month” after picking up a hamstring injury.

Virgil van Dijk was substituted in the first half of Liverpool’s 3-1 defeat to Brentford on Monday, January 2.
Though Klopp initially suggested the issue was not a serious one, subsequent tests revealed a significant muscle strain which would keep the defender out of action until mid-February.
Giving an update on Van Dijk, Klopp said;

“Virg was a surprise for us, obviously, a big blow. He didn’t feel a lot. I took him off, actually, no risk.
“In the end, the diagnosis was pretty harsh, but we talk about weeks – more than a month. I hope it goes quick, but for now he is not available. That’s how it is. We have other centre-halves, as long as that’s the case everything is OK for the team.
“But for Virg, it’s harsh. He played an incredible amount of games over the last years. [Now] we cannot use him on the pitch at least. Off the pitch, we will do that.”

Video footage captures the moment a lady wept bitterly as she was about to sign out from the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) scheme.
In the clip, the disgruntled lady blamed the scheme for issuing her a certificate as she wasn’t ready to exit the process yet.
As we all know, a Passing-Out-Parade (P.O.P) was conducted for the 2021 Batch B Stream 1 corps members yesterday, 7 July and while some were happy to have completed their service year, the lady’s case appeared quite different.
Lamenting, she avowed that she wants to continue receiving N33K allowance every month.
