Super Eagles‘ legend Nwankwo Kanu has congratulated Nigeria’s duo Victor Osimhen and Asisat Oshoala on their CAF Awards. Osimhen emerged for the first time, as Africa’s Best Player of the Year in the male category, beating the likes of Mohamed Salah and Achraf Hakimi to the prize. Oshoala on the other hand, took her tally to six, the most by any African female player in history. Meanwhile in a tweet after the ceremony, Kanu, former Arsenal star comically congratulated the two superstars for their prestigious awards.

Osimhen was instrument to Napoli’s Scudetto title last season, scoring impressive 26 goals. Oshoala also proved her competence, leading Barcelona’s women team to Champions League glory. She scored 27 goals across all competitions for the side last season.
