Reports online allege that officials of the State Security Service (SSS) has on Tuesday morning prevented officers of the EFCC from entering their office in Ikoyi, Lagos. Aisha Buhari, wife of President Muhammadu Buhari has said that outgoing First Ladies should be handed some of the privileges their husbands are given while leaving office. Aisha Buhari who spoke at the launch of a book in Abuja authored by the President of the Defence and Police Officers’ Wives Association (DEPOWA), Mrs. Vickie Anwuli Irabor, said privileges such as the provision of vehicles, sponsored medical treatments, and provision of some stipends, among others that are due to former Presidents, should also be extended First Ladies.

Outlining why this is important, Aisha said; “I married my husband as the wife of a former president. I am going in a few days as a wife of a former president a second time. They should consider us as former first ladies. They should incorporate the first ladies, give us some privileges that we deserve as first ladies, not just the former presidents”.

Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna state has said that after handing over to the incoming government on May 29, he will only visit the North-West state if it becomes necessary. The Kaduna state Governor said this at a policy conversation and book launch in Abuja on Tuesday, May 9.

El-Rufai further revealed that he won’t be returning to his former position as Minister of the Federal Capital Territory even if offered. He said; “I have done my job, I’m done, I don’t look back. In fact when I left FCT, the only time I visited FCT was in 2016 when my secondary school classmate was appointed the minister and he said he wanted to see me, so I went there. “Once I leave a job, I don’t look back. If I leave Kaduna in 19 days, I will only visit if it becomes necessary.

“So, I don’t think about the FCT. I’ve done my bit. I don’t comment on the performance of those that came after me. “Even if offered, I’m not coming to Abuja. As I say, I never repeat class and there are many young people I know that I can recommend that would do even better job than I did as minister of FCT. “I’m too old for this. I’m too old for demolition, get a young man with blood in his veins or a young woman.”

Nigerian man storms CBN’s office with N50m old naira notes

An Hausa man has caused an uproar after walking into one of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) branches in Kano with N50 million old naira notes. In the video, he was spotted carrying the money in different sacks. He had one on his head and also employed the services of people who helped him to carry the rest of the cash.

Reacting to the video, some netizens wondered why he waited so long to deposit his old naira notes. The man however maintained that the money belonged to him and he is a trader in Kano state.
