He courageously approached the event director and insisted that the supervisor be removed from her position or he would leave the event altogether. @jummychuu expressed her admiration for Olamide, referring to him as an “OG” (original gangster) due to his actions. She wrote; “Why Olamide Baddo will forever be an OG to me. Back when I used to do ushering jobs, one lady the director kept in charge of artists and ushers was rude to ushers, Olamide legit asked the director to walk her out or he’s going to leave. Ngerian singer Bella Shmurda has recently shared the untold story behind his breakthrough song “Vision 2020.” In an exclusive interview with Pulse, the artist disclosed that the recording and video shoot for the hit track were financially supported by renowned rapper Olamide, who went above and beyond to promote the song on his social media platforms.

He also acknowledged the instrumental roles played by dancer Poco Lee and fellow artist Zlatan Ibile in his artistic development. According to Bella, it was Poco Lee who introduced him to Olamide.

Bella Shmurda further revealed that during his collaboration with Zlatan, the rapper provided support and worked on several unreleased tracks with him. In his words; “Shout out to Baddo [Olamide]. He was so supportive. He had to pay ID Cabasa for the reproduction of ‘Vision 2020’. He sorted my video. And even posting it more [on social media]. He did everything he could do for Fireboy without me signing a paper. “Poco Lee used to stay with Zlatan. I was in Mainland, and he [Poco Lee] was like, ‘Bella, come now we go just dey manage for here small small.’ And Zlatan, he received me with opened hands. Anything he [Zlatan] is in the studio recording, he always calls me. He always gives me motivations.

You may recall that in 2015, an altercation had broke out at the Headies event when Reekado Banks had won the Next-Rated Award over Lil Kesh. This didn’t sit right with Olamide who mounted the stage to say that the award, which comes with a brand new car, was meant to be given to the YBNL signee, Lil Kesh.

After he and his entourage left the stage, Don Jazzy also climbed the stage to address Olamide saying that if he wants the car, he should come take it. Don Jazzy who recalled the incident in an interview with Doyin, said that it hadn’t been an appropriate thing to do. He added that he had regretted what he had said immediately he left the stage; although, he has long apologized to Olamide and the Headies organizers for his behavior.

Baddo noted that it occurred during his time working with his boss and producer, ID Cabasa, many years ago, as reported by The Nation. In his words; “I was in the studio when this senior artist came in to record a song, and he said he was hungry. Who else will he send to buy food if not me, who was the youngest in the studio? The money he gave me was not enough for his meal, so I decided to add my own money. I even used my money to pay for transportation. When I got back to the studio with the food, guess what this guy said to me? “Cabasa, tell this your boy to give me my change. If he wants money, he should tell me, and I will give it to him. He should not use a trick to steal my money. I almost got angry, but one look from ID Cabasa calmed me down. Today, the guy is one of my biggest fans, and he is planning to do a song with me.”
