Motun, a Nigerian lady, shared her disheartening encounter with a prominent politician who discouraged her from joining politics. Motun took to Twitter on Monday, July 17, to narrate the incident that left her feeling discouraged and dispirited. Motun revealed that she expressed her interest in politics to her father, who promptly provided her with the contact information of one of his politician friends. Eager to explore her passion, Motun wasted no time and dialed the politician’s number the very next day. She introduced herself and bravely made her request known. However, the response she received from the politician was far from encouraging She wrote; “I told my Dad I have interest in Politics, he gave me one of his friend’s contact who is a politician. I called him the next day, introduced myself & my request, he said “Omo mi, these people will useless you, find a gud husband, do ur PhD and think about it again“ My heart sank.” Adding to the discouragement, the politician advised Motun to focus on finding a suitable husband and pursuing a PhD before reconsidering her decision to enter politics. Motun was deeply affected by these remarks, as she expressed that her heart sank upon hearing the politician’s dismissive words. See below;

Adesua Etomi, a popular Nigerian actress, has revealed that she was initially terrified when her husband, Bankole Wellington, also known as Banky W, expressed his desire to enter politics. In a recent interview with Hip TV, Adesua admitted that she was immediately concerned and frightened by Banky’s declaration.

It can be recalled that on November 11, 2018, Banky announced his intention to run for the Eti-Osa Federal Constituency seat on the platform of the Modern Democratic Party. He ran for the same seat in the 2023 elections under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), but unfortunately lost to the Labour Party (LP) candidate, Attah Thaddeus. Adesua expressed her initial worries and disturbances about Banky’s decision to go into politics. However, she emphasized that she believes in the importance of fulfilling one’s purpose and that he has her full support. She said; “When Banky said that he wanted to go into politics, I was a little bit worried and disturbed about it. But I also believe that purpose is more important than fear. And I want to see him fulfil purpose. So, he has my support 100 per cent.”

APC chieftain, Bayo Onanuga has given a remark that the Igbo should not “interference in Lagos politics“ any longer.
Bayo Onanuga took to his official Twitter account, where he made his remark known. According to him, the Igbo should learn to mind their business and that 2023 should be the last time that they interfere in Lagos politics. This comment trailed the notion, “Lagos is no man’s land”, a statement that appears to have triggered many. He further states that Lagos is a state in Yoruba land and as such, should not be tagged “no man’s land”, as it is a state just like every other in Nigeria. Adesua Etomi shares reaction to Banky W’s decision to join politics
The wife of music executive and politician Banky W, Adesua Etomi has revealed her reactions when her husband told her about joining politics.
In 2019, Banky W joined politics to run for the federal constituency of Eti-Osa in the House of Representatives as a member of the Modern Democratic Party (MDP). In 2022, Banky W was declared the winner of the Peoples Democratic Party for House of Reps. According to Adesua Etormi in a recent interview, she was worried when her husband disclosed his ambitions and decided to join politics. However, she added that her fears and her concerns subsided when she realized Banky W was pursuing a higher purpose. When Banky said he was going to go into politics, I was a little bit worried, she said. I spoke about this many times before but I also believe that purpose is more important than fear.
