Man who completed 5-day marathon from Lagos to Port Harcourt, receives plots of land

A young Nigerian man, Promise Wosu Junior, who completed a 5-day marathon from the Lekki Toll Gate in Lagos to Port Harcourt has been generously rewarded with plots of land for his remarkable achievement Hailing from Omudioga in Emohua local government, Rivers state, Promise embarked on this ambitious journey with the aim of setting a Guinness World Record. His incredible feat caught the attention of many, and he garnered significant support and recognition for his efforts.

After successfully completing the arduous marathon and arriving in Port Harcourt on October 21, Promise checked into a medical facility for a well-deserved check-up and some much-needed rest. His journey was grueling, covering a distance of approximately 350 kilometers. The young runner’s triumphant return to Port Harcourt was marked by a warm welcome from the Rivers State governor, Siminalayi Fubara, who commended Promise’s determination and courage. In a Facebook post on Wednesday, November 1, Promise shared his excitement with his fans and followers. Moment car wash attendant narrowly escapes death after crashing customer’s vehicle while test driving it in Port Harcourt

A car wash attendant in the Rumueme area of Port Harcourt, Rivers State, had a harrowing close call with death on Sunday afternoon, as he reportedly crashed a client’s vehicle while test driving it. The incident, which unfolded in broad daylight. According to a post by Facebook user Justice Ori, the incident occurred on Sunday, October 29, 2023. The vehicle owner had brought his car to the local car wash for a routine cleaning, an ordinary task that took a terrifying turn.

The car wash employee, after finishing the cleaning, decided to test his driving skills in the client’s vehicle. This impromptu test drive quickly turned into a disaster, as the vehicle careened out of control and ended up inside a drainage ditch. Bystanders who witnessed the incident rushed to the scene to provide assistance to the trapped attendant. Miraculously, he narrowly escaped death, and with the help of the community members, they managed to extricate him from the car.

The vehicle, however, sustained noticeable scratches and damage as a result of the crash. At the time of the Facebook post, the owner of the car was reportedly unaware of the incident, leaving them in the dark about the unfortunate turn of events that had transpired at the car wash.; “Happened this afternoon in Rumueme area of Port Harcourt. A Man drove his car to car wash, the car washer after washing the car decided to test his driving experience, the next thing we saw him and the car inside the drainage. It took the help of people around to bring him out as he narrowly escaped death. Police reacts to trending video of officers assaulting man in Port Harcourt

CSP Adejobi, the spokesperson of the Nigerian police force, has responded to a video that has been circulating online, depicting police officers assaulting a man in Port Harcourt.

The video shows a police officer assaulting a man with a stick and later slapping him before forcing him into a vehicle parked within the premises. In his response to the video, the Police spokesperson expressed his disappointment and stated that he had instructed the Rivers State command to identify and bring to justice the officers involved in the harassment.

Drama as lady goes into labour while queuing for cash at bank in Port Harcourt (Video)

A pregnant woman has gone into labour while queuing to collect some cash in front of a bank in Port Harcourt.

It was a confusing moment for bystanders who had all lined up to withdraw cash at their bank when the expectant mother’s water broke. This threw people in confusion as they could be seen running hither thither, trying to assist the lady into a car to take her to the hospital to deliver her child. One witness could be heard explaining that the heavily pregnant woman had been made to stand for hours under the scorching sun to withdraw her money when she began experiencing labour contractions. Fortunately, altruistic Nigerians were able to carry her into a taxi which took off in the direction of a nearby hospital. Watch the video below …

Immediately, I called my wife to break the good news to her. I am very happy. I thank God and thank Globacom for making me a brand new car owner after I sold my old car last year”. Many other winners also went home with power generators, sewing machines, and rechargeable fans. A total of 71 winners emerged at the event.

In his speech, the special guest, Hon. Azeru Opara, lauded Globacom for its spirit of giving back to the people, adding that the company had over the years empowered many Nigerians. Nollywood actress and content creator, Mama Ariella has tearfully called out Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State for allegedly demolishing her family’s home that belonged to her late father-in-law in Port Harcourt.
Expressing her sorrow in a video she shared on her Instagram channel, the actress stated that she is currently shattered alongside her husband who could no longer stand the thought of Wike’s action.

Cautioning the teary video, she wrote: “I try my best to show kindness, I’m out here everyday telling you guys “be kind to one another,” help yourselves, we are all we have. Yet kindness has eluded me and I’m so shattered. I was so close to my mother in law so this one hit me deep in my heart.
“My husband is one of the strongest person I have ever met. The fact that this happened and I’m sure it broke him but he didn’t want to tell me because he knew I would cry. He finally told me just now. Gov. Nyesom Wike thank you for erasing my family’s memorials. May karma give you what you deserve in life.
For over 35 years my inlaw owned this property and just in a twinkle of an eye it’s gone. Atleast I have a voice and I can speak out but Gov wike rendered thousands of people homeless, threw their things onto the street yet nobody said a word.”
