Lady recalls how robbers cart away valuables while security officer sleeps
Lady narrates the bitter experience of how two robbers broke into her compound and stole her gold chains, phones, and other valuables while their security officer was asleep. On Sunday, June 25, ijele nwanyi, a Twitter user, shared a harrowing incident on her page.
She recounted the distressing encounter where the burglars invaded her residence, ransacked her compound, and made off with her gold chains, phones, and other valuable items. Shockingly, they also attempted to assault her sexually. In her detailed post, ijele nwanyi disclosed that during the terrifying ordeal, the robbers held a knife against her neck, threatening her not to raise an alarm while emphasizing their willingness to cause harm. Adding to the appalling situation, one of the assailants even made an initial attempt to engage in sexual activity with her. However, he eventually had a change of heart, presumably due to fears of incurring generational curses. How thief broke into my house, robbed me while security man slept “A few days ago, while sleeping, I felt a cold object on my neck. Woke up with two guys standing over me, holding knives to my throat. I screamed and one of them threatened to cut of my head if I tried it again. They took my phone, made me log out of my icloud.” “My sister was sleeping in the next room and she didn’t hear me. They took every thing of value I own and all the cash I had. Tried transferring from my account and for the first time in my life I was happy UBA is a trashy bank. Network was bad so they told me to write down.” “All my passwords. At that point my sister opened her door and one of them immediately rushed to her and held the knife to her throat. She was dragged to her room and everything of value they could find was taken. All our phones, my laptop, gold necklaces, watches and even her Gold wedding ring was taken. One of them even told me to lie down so he can “collect one round”. At this point I knew one of us was going to die. Him or me and I was fine with that. He laughed condescendingly and said ” I can’t attract curse to myself.” “They robbed us for an hour and only left when they heard the estate security whistle. I am not hurt physically but emotionally I am shattered. My home is supposed to be my safe place but I was held like a ram right inside my room. I am not ok. Honestly I am not ok. I am scared.” “I am even scared of staying in my own home. I have been traumatized .Any little noise at night, I panic. These boys even picked 100 naira on my bed. Everything of value was taken. Every money down to 5 naira was taken. Even my earbuds. He even asked for the charger.” “I am really not ok. I am angry, sad, and scared at the same time. Too many emotions running through my body.” “A police report has been duly made and hopefully, something comes out of it. Please is there anybody that can help track a phone?” “And we even have compound security. I even had to run downstairs to wake him after they left. He was sleeping soundly in his room while miscreants held a knife to my throat. Ahhhhhhhh. This thing pain me. E pain me” A few days ago, while sleeping, I felt a cold object on my neck. “They said my behavior was abnormal and un-Nigerian” – Man recalls how he was arrested at bank for ‘calmly waiting’ while others were rushing
A man has related how he was reportedly arrested at a bank because he exercised patience and calmly waited his turn while other customers were rushing to get their money.
The story was shared by a Nigerian man identified as Najeeb Bello Oyarese on Twitter while responding to a tweet which asked people to share their arrest story. According to the Oyarese, he was at the bank in Benin patiently waiting in line for two hours at a bank on a Friday while others were scrambling to collect their cash. He claimed that some officers of DSS extraction had arrested him because they had found his behavior ‘very abnormal and unNigerian’.
The backstory, as told by the narrator which led up to his arrest, was that the DSS had supposedly been monitoring two men to tender a check at the counter so they can arrest them in the act. They had however noticed that the narrator had been in the bank for over two hours and had not been showing eagerness to take his own money, which led them to suspect and apprehend him. Read his full narration below: “Benin was the craziest because DSS arrested me in GTBank, Sapele Road because I entered the bank on a Friday and calmly waited for hours while others were rushing to get their money. They said my behaviour was very abnormal and unNigerian. 🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️ By the way, this is the worst day of my life and I plan to make a movie about it. It started with me taking a bus from UNIBEN to Ring Road on a rainy day, and the bus parked up inside a big pool of mud at Uselu. Passengers had to come out in the rain and wade through the mud. The day ended with me finally arriving back in Ekosodin and my neighbours came out of the hostel begging me that they had messed up big time. What happened? They took my keys to watch movies in my room, tried to keep the key back on top of my window, but it fell into the room. Anyway, middle of the story….when they brought those 2 criminals out, they used one handcuff to cuff them together, but immediately I got out of the bank, they used a brand new pair of silver handcuffs to cuff my hands together, as per mastermind. It had to be a nightmare! The worst part was the way bank staff I had known for years reacted: “Ah! Sadiq’s brother is among them? You can never really trust people O!” 🙆🏾🙆🏾♀️🙆🏾♂️ Only one came out to ask if he could call my brother. I said no. Asked him to reach into my wallet, ‘call General Zibiri’! General Zibiri talked to the DSS team lead, and all I heard was “I’m sorry sir, Yes sir, I’m sorry sir, Yes sir”. After the call he told his men, “Let him go!”. They uncuffed me, and I walked up to him. Asked ‘Is that all?’. He apologized, and that was when I asked him why… He said he was observing the 2 criminals waiting for them to tender the cheque again so he could arrest, then he noticed me having entered the bank for more than 2 hours, I seemed unbothered about getting my money. I wasn’t rushing, wasn’t stressing. Very unNigerian and abnormal.”

Tony Elumelu shares inspiring life story as he recalls NYSC days
Popular business tycoon, Tony Elumelu shares inspiring story of how he joined the banking profession despite not having the required grade.
Walking down memory lane, he shared a photo from 1985 when he did his one-year mandatory national service. He revealed that during his service year, he was unsure of what to do next after his NYSC, but was certain that he would make it through hard work and resilience. Mr Elumelu said that he had admired the banking profession particularly for how impeccably dressed they typically are. He had resolved to apply for a job at All States Trust Bank, however a minimum of 2:1 was demanded and he had graduated with a 2:2 grade.
Undeterred by this, he applied regardless and assured his future employers that he’d prove himself and was granted a chance. He stated that he shared the story to inspire the youths who had recently passed out of the NYSC. In his words: “Circa 1985. I recall my Youth Service days in Sokoto, a young man, fresh out of school, enjoying the drinks we could afford (lol) and unsure about the next steps. In my uncertainty, I was sure of one thing, I will stand out wherever I found myself, through hard work and resilience. I had always admired the banking profession, for one, I loved that the guys in the profession were always impeccably dressed… suspenders were a huge thing then, and I wanted to look like them. A few years later, after my Masters, I saw the application for graduates with a minimum of 2:1 in All States Trust Bank, this aligned with what I wanted for my life, but my 2:2 grade did not make me qualified, still, I applied, because I identified what I wanted in life and I was going to work towards it. I put in my application and said “Even though I do not meet these requirements if you give me the chance, I will prove myself”. I got this job and spent every day proving myself and earning my luck in the bank. Do it afraid and do it unsure! To the young ones out there, especially those who just passed out of NYSC yesterday, this is my message to you. The world needs your courage. #FlashbackFriday #TOEWay”
