Chelsea, Man City, among eight Premier League clubs who rejected ban on same-party loans
Eight Premier League clubs, including Chelsea and Manchester City, have blocked a proposed ban on same-party loans. The rejection now allows teams to sign players from related clubs on loan during the January transfer window. The proposed ban faced opposition from clubs that had affiliations or shared ownership structures. Newcastle, now owned by the Saudi-led consortium, was among the clubs against the ban, as their majority owners, the Public Investment Fund (PIF), also own several clubs in the Saudi Pro League.

The opposing clubs included Sheffield United, Manchester City, Chelsea, Everton, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Nottingham Forest, and Burnley. The motion for the rule change emerged following the PIF’s acquisition of four Saudi teams during the summer, raising concerns about potential conflicts of interest and competitive balance.
Why I rejected Olamide’s request to join label
Nigerian rapper, Phenom has surprised netizens after sharing his reason for not accepting Olamide’s record label offer. In a recent episode of the Terms and Conditions podcast, rapper Phenom shared the intriguing revelation. According to Phenom, Olamide and some other top singers had expressed their desire to work with him. He also disclosed that during the peak of his career, Wizkid himself had approached him with an offer to join his prestigious record label, Starboy Entertainment. The rapper added that he had lucrative deals on the table, including a jaw-dropping 100 million Naira offer and a brand new G-wagon. However, his unwavering loyalty to Knight House, his then-label, ultimately influenced his decision. He said; “He (Wizkid) approached me at some point. We had this great chemistry. He said he wanted me on his team. He said he wanted him and me to work on my album. But I was with a label. I’m that loyal. And I remember I ask my mum that’s what’s on ground and my mum was like, ‘No. You signed with these people, finish your contract with them.’ That was what it was, mehn. “Even Wizkid’s deal was not as pleasant as many other that I don’t know. Me and Olamide had a conversation as well. But a lot of other guys approached me too. I had a deal of N100 million with a G-waggon at some point. I had the crazy deals. “The only regret I do have was the fact that I was under fast life at that time so I could have crashed. So, I see it as a blessing as well because I don’t know what would have happened. But when I look at it, I’m like, ‘Damn! I should have taken that Wizkid’s deal.”

Mac Allister rejected No. 8 jersey at Liverpool because of Gerrard
New Liverpool signing Alexis Mac Allister has revealed that he turned down the chance to wear the iconic No.8 jersey out of respect for Steven Gerrard. Gerrard enjoyed ten years wearing the number 8 at Anfield and, following his departure in 2015, the shirt actually went vacant until Naby Keita joined the club in 2018. Mac Allister committing his future with Liverpool. Naby Keita failed to live up to expectations when he inherited Gerrard’s shirt following his £53 million arrival from RB Leipzig in 2018 and his contract was not renewed. With Keita leaving on a free transfer this summer, Mac Allister was offered the chance to take the No. 8 shirt, the same number he wore in Argentina with Boca Juniors, but the new signing turned it down in favour of keeping the 10 from his Brighton days. The 10 was famously worn by both Philippe Coutinho and Sadio Mane at Anfield and was left vacant by the latter’s move to Bayern Munich last summer. Mac Allister who revealed that he turned down wearing the Number 8 jersey out of respect for Liverpool legend, Steven Gerrard during an interview with the Mirror, said;

I knew there were several numbers available – including 10 and 8. The No 8 shirt is a very important number in that club because of Gerrard, so I hesitated a bit. I ended up choosing the 10, but 8 is a number that I like a lot and has a history at the club.” Mac Allister also opened up on behind-the-scenes talks with Jurgen Klopp that persuaded him to tie his long-term future to the club over rivals such as Manchester United and Chelsea. He added; “After the season ended, I had the chance to talk to Klopp and he told me about the club, the city, and what he wanted. The main thing was that from the first moment, they communicated with my family and with me, they wanted me to be there. “When I was able to speak with the coach, it was made even clearer. It’s the small details that made me choose Liverpool. I feel that it is the right step in my career.

Source: Club Website “We all know that Klopp likes to play a lot on the counterattack, but in recent years there has been a change in his way of playing. He explained to me that he needed players to play between the lines and with a winning mentality. “I’ve always had that mentality – but even more so after the World Cup. I want to win titles – that’s the goal that the club and I have. “Liverpool is one of the biggest clubs in Europe and the world. Its history makes it like this. “The fans demonstrate in each match in the way they show up. But as well as history, there is a team with great players and a great coach. From the first moment, they showed me a lot of desire for me to be there.”
Model laments after being rejected on set for not being light-skinned
A young model identified as Ewa has taken to her page online to lament after she was rejected at a movie set for not being light-skinned. Some minutes after noon, the artiste arrived on set and said he changed his mind. He wants a light-skinned model because my skin tone ‘doesn’t fit the aesthetic’ At this time, I was done with makeup and halfway through my hair, so l was thinking it must probably be a joke. Am I supposed to whip out bleaching cream and turn myself into the skin tone that fits the aesthetic? The members of the crew tell me that it’s the artiste’s video and there’s nothing they can do about it. This is very funny to me because the artist himself cast me for the role a week ago. And it wasn’t until an hour into filming that he decided he wanted a light-skinned girl. They said I will be given a compensation fee which isn’t even half the pay for the job but I should be grateful because they could have just told me bye-bye. Throughout everything, the director and the artist refused to address me personally and instead resorted to sending members of the crew to me. They told me to go home, it happens all the time, and light-skinned women are preferable for mvs. They kept telling me how the situation could have been much worse. ‘What if I had started filming before the artiste changed his mind?’ I should be grateful they decided to give me some money because they originally just wanted to pay for my transport alone. I can’t begin to describe how insulted I felt. The fact that this didn’t happen in Europe or Asia makes it all the more hurtful. It’s always baffling to see how outrageously colorist our society and the industry is. I’m a dark-skinned woman and if I don’t fit the aesthetic or meet up to your beauty standards, don’t book me. It’s that simple. There are thousands of light-skinned women to choose from. Models are not accessories. We are not shoes or bags that you can change and replace as you see fit. We are people and we deserve to be treated as such. 8am on Sunday, I left my house in Ikeja to the set of a mv at Lekki.
