Controversial singer, Portable Omolalomi stirs a reaction from his ex-signee, Yung Duu as he insists on taking N100M before allowing him to be signed by any label. This comes days after Yung Duu and the CEO of Eh God Records, Carter Efe were spotted together, allegedly making plans to sign him under his label.

portable

In a recent interview, Zeh Nation Records boss, Portable insisted that the singer is an investment of his and as such, can’t be off the hook unless he’s paid. He pressed on to demand the sum of N100M from any prospective record label that intends to sign Yung Duu in their company. “He is my boy, I am the one that signed him and spent money on him. Tell him that anyone who is going to sign Yung Duu will pay me N100M. That was the same thing Oladips did to Reminisce, look where he is today. Oladips begged me not to let him go so he does not end up like a stray like him,” he said.

Yung Duu, however, did not wait a second before reacting to his former boss’s demands while clarifying his relationship with Carter Efe’s label. He added that Portable is only out for public validation despite being poor of character in private. “N100M for wetin? They are not even trying to sign me, they are only helping me. If you can’t do something for someone and you see someone that can do it, don’t put your hands. All you want to do is the one people will see and talk about. There are some bad things you’re doing that you can never show,” Yung Duu said in part. Watch the video below … Wahala for Zeh Nation💀!

Court orders immediate release of Emefiele

Court orders immediate release of Emefiele Court declares the arrest and ongoing detention of the former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele by the Department of State Services (DSS) as invalid. This ruling comes one day after a Federal Capital Territory High Court in Abuja ordered Emefiele’s release.

Godwin emefiele

Suspended Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele. Emefiele had sought the court’s intervention against several parties, including the Forum for Accountability and Good Leadership, the Attorney General of the Federation, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), the Inspector General of Police, the State Security Service, and the Central Bank of Nigeria. Justice Kawu concluded that Emefiele’s arrest and detention were in violation of a previous ruling made by Justice M. A. Hassan. Emefiele’s lawyer, Peter Abang, urged the court to invalidate his client’s arrest and detention, asserting that it disregarded Justice Hassan’s ruling issued on December 29, 2022. Justice Bello Kawu concurred that the arrest and detention were contrary to Justice Hassan’s standing order. The court also invalidated any arrest warrant obtained by the DSS and ordered Emefiele’s immediate release from custody. In response to the ruling, Emefiele’s legal counsel commended the bravery of Nigerian judges and urged the DSS to promptly comply with the court order. He emphasized that Emefiele’s health had deteriorated during his one-month detention and insisted that he should be allowed to attend to it.

Manchester City release Benjamin Mendy ahead of rape retrial

Benjamin Mendy will be released by Manchester City at the end of his contract later this month, as he awaits his retrial on one charge of alleged rape and another of attempted rape. 28-year-old Mendy has been suspended by City since he was first charged in August 2021. Source: Getty He was cleared of six counts of rape and one charge of sexual assault earlier this year after a five-month trial at Chester Crown Court but is set to face a retrial this month on one count of alleged rape and another of attempted rape. He has denied all charges and the retrial is set to begin on June 26. After almost two years without playing, Benjamin Mendy has disappeared from circulation at Manchester City. His contract was not terminated, however, and he remained a member of Pep Guardiola’s squad. This will change at the end of the month. Indeed, the player is coming to the end of his contract on June 30 and Manchester City has confirmed, unsurprisingly, that Benjamin Mendy’s contract will not be renewed. Without a club, the sporting future of Benjamin Mendy darkens a little more. At 28, the rest of his career is dotted. Beginning on June 26, his second trial will conclude around September 18. If the judgment is positive for Benjamin Mendy, it is still difficult to imagine the clubs jostling for the former Monaco and OM player, especially after so much time without competition.

The jury was unable to reach verdicts on three additional rape counts and three allegations of sexual assault against him by five other women. Louis Saha Matturie faces a retrial later this year with a date penciled in for September. He has denied all charges.

Following the suspension of the former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele and that of the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC Abdulrasheed Bawa, Nigerians on social media space are calling for the arrest and prosecution of the former Attorney General of the Federation, AGF, Abubakar Malami, alleging that he also indulged in corrupt practices while in power. They also called on the president to arrest the former minister of aviation, Hadi Sirika over his involvement in the establishment of Nigeria Air which has been tagged as a fraudulent act by some lawmakers. Netizens call for arrest and prosecution of Malami over alleged corruption under Buhari's govtFormer AGF, Abubakar Malami The Chairman of the Independent Electoral Commission, INEC, Mahmood Yakubu was also called out for alleged rigging in the 2023 general election that peaked Tinubu to victory against others. Recall that PresidentTinubu through the office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, announced the suspension of Emefiele and Bawa. Explaining the reason behind Emefiele’s suspension, the Director of Information, Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Willie Bassey disclosed that the suspension of the CBN governor was based on an ongoing investigation as well as planned reforms in Nigeria’s financial sector. On Bawa’s suspension, Willie Basse said was based on weighty allegations of abuse of office levelled against him and also to allow for proper investigation into his conduct while in office. Some Nigerians who called on Tinubu to also arrest Malami wrote on their Twitter handles, @shehu_mahdi: “ARREST MALAMI OR RELEASE BAWA BECAUSE: He nominated him. He supervised him. He is the cabal at the centre. He has a tie with Failed PMB. He prosecuted selectively. He discharged & acquitted at will. He became DEBT collector. He negotiated & huge government debt. “He paid those debts exclusively. He needs to explain how he suddenly became mercilessly rich. He needs to explain the $2.8B crude oil stolen whose details are fully known to him. He ignored several court orders. He holds the judiciary in contempt. He must not be above the law.” @firstladyship: “Tinubu is simply removing his frenemies. So until he arrests Mahmood Yakubu, Hadi Sirika, Madam Palliatives & Malami, then he’s not a serious person. The APC moved the dollar from N200 to N750, & you’re clapping? Gullible people. Go to your village Iroko tree & untie your destiny.” @AK_Babawo: “If President Tinubu is thinking of arresting Malami, that will be the end of his fraudulent victory. He will expose their rigging plan from A-Z.” @AustinNwabufo: “This BAWA the EFCC dubious Chairman that was recently arrested and detained by DSS, Bawa is noted for re-lootin money obtained under menace from an EFCC victim.” @AbubakarAAliyu7: “Buhari is not a thief but if Buhari is arrested today I will not be surprised because his top government functionaries stole a lot of money. I’m eyeing Emefele, Sadiya Umar Faruk, Malami. Buhari housed real thieves. ” @kennyokolugbo: “Agbor is on the wrong side of the news. Emefiele is from Ika and Agbor is in Ika federal constituency. I said he should not be granted 10 months study leave but INVITED for questioning. Irabor, Okowa, Malami, Tunde and all the others associated with him would be at unease now.” @Morris_Monye: “Sadiya Farouq, Sirika, and Malami should be the next in custody of DSS. “Just to understand what the hell happened in the last 8yrs “Then the last stage of the game where we face the boss himself…. Buhari.” @InibeheEffiong: “Malami should be made to account for his stewardship. The activities of the Federal Ministry of Justice under his leadership should be thoroughly and decisively investigated.”

Peter Mbah meets Tinubu, pleads for Nnamdi Kanu’s release

Gov of Enugu, Mbah meets Tinubu, pleads for Nnamdi Kanu's release

As the new era of leadership begins in different parts of the country, Enugu State Governor, Barr Peter Mbah, on Thursday, met with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, where he discussed his state’s matters and the need to release the leader of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. Mbah while addressing reporters, described his meeting with Tinubu as heartwarming,  and according to him, partnership and collaboration with Tinubu’s administration were critical to actualising his administration’s agenda for Enugu State. He said, “I came and frankly I brought to the President, the warm greetings and best wishes from the government and the people of Enugu state. “But, above all, you may also know already that we made massive campaign promises to the people of Enugu. And we also have expressed a humongous vision. “We’ve taken a bold view of what the new government could achieve in the next four years, in terms of growing our economy from the current levels to $30 billion. “And one of our core governance philosophies is to collaborate and to have partnership; and we have identified the federal government as our core partner. “A lot of people do not know, but we have huge mineral resources in Enugu State. And these resources are sitting under our ground, not being productive. So, we believe with the partnership we’re trying to build with the federal government, we’re able to transform these assets into productive assets. “Of course, you know that the growth level we have proposed is one that is going to be driven by the private sector and private sector wants the ease of doing business; and one of the core indicators of the ease of doing business is security and infrastructure. So, we also had that conversation with Mr. President. “And finally, we also talked about the release of Nnamdi Kanu. You know, that the South East has made a collective demand to have Nnamdi Kanu released. And we basically identified with that and request Mr. President, who in his inaugural address promised the people that he’s going to engender national healing and he’s going to serve with compassion. “So we’ve basically informed him that this would serve as a pointer to his administration’s extension of hands of fellowship to Ndigbo”, he said.
