Mmesoma Ejikeme opens up on origin of her 362 JAMB score

Mmesoma Ejikeme, a student of Anglican Girls Secondary School in Nnewi, Anambra State, has explained how she got her impressive score of 362 in the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). Ejikeme denied the allegations made by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) that she manually manipulated her UTME result to win a N3 million scholarship from Innoson Motors. Ejikeme revealed that she did not visit any computer centre to check her UTME result, but instead accessed it on the JAMB portal after the exams earlier this year. She spoke on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily via telephone on Wednesday, July 5, refuting the claims made by JAMB spokesperson Fabian Benjamin on Sunday, July 2. The 19-year-old student stated in an interview: “You have to register on the JAMB portal with your email address and number; I went to [the] JAMB portal. On that JAMB portal, I tried to get my result; they redirected me to another server.” “That’s where I entered my reg number, and when I checked the result, that was what I got there and downloaded it. I didn’t go to any computer centre.” When asked if she was the only one who printed the outdated UTME result sheet, she said she had not seen anyone with a similar copy. Ejikeme said; “You know phones now, if you want to check, you have the reg number. That’s the main thing you use in downloading your [results]. It’s not the hard copy that I’m talking of.” Romanus Ejikeme, Mmesoma’s father, also confirmed that he did not accompany his daughter to any business or computer centre to print out her UTME result.

JAMB releases Ejikeme Joy’s "original" result, shows different score

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially shared the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) result slip of Ejikeme Joy Mmesoma. This follows the buzzing controversy surrounding her 362 score which was claimed to have been manipulated and forged. JAMB’s spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, had on Sunday, July 2, accused Ejikeme of manually manipulating her UTME result to get a N3 million scholarship from Innoson Motors. During an interview on Channels TV on Tuesday, July 4, Benjamin posted Ejikeme’s JAMB result which revealed that the student of Anglican Girls Secondary School in Nnewi, Anambra state, scored 249 in the exam, TheCable reported. The UTME result presented by JAMB is different from the result slip being paraded by Mmesoma, which showed she scored 362. See the post below:

This is coming shortly after the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) revealed ways in which candidates inflate their 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) results. The examination body disclosed that candidates and their alleged sponsors defraud Nigerians with the claims that they had excellent results or got the highest score in the UTME using a particular software. JAMB made reference to Miss Ejikeme Joy Mmesoma, who claimed to have scored 362, and Atung Gerald from Kaduna state, who claimed to have scored 380 in the UTME, but had neither obtained the 2023 UTME application documents nor participated in the examination.

After receiving N3M scholarship for scoring the highest in the 2023 UTME exam in Anambra, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB confirms that the student faked her result. Ejikeme Mmesoma is accused of deliberately faking her score and falsely claiming to be the highest scorer in the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination.

Anambra student celebrated for having highest UTME score faked results — JAMB Ejikeme Mmesoma

Miss Ejikeme Mmesoma In a statement released by the board on Sunday, it was revealed that Ejikeme manipulated her score in order to secure a N3 million scholarship from Innoson Motors. She was also scheduled to receive recognition from the Anambra State government until now that her deceit was uncovered. The statement reads in part; “The attention of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has been drawn to several publications in both print and online media celebrating certain candidates for being high scorers in the 2023 UTME. “The Board is constrained to set the records straight and wishes to state unequivocally that many of the results which many of these candidates are parading are fake. In many instances, some of these candidates had actually obtained far lower scores than they are claiming and had used some funny software packages to manipulate their results to deceive unsuspecting members of the public. “The most pathetic of them all is the case of Miss Ejikeme Joy Mmesoma, who claimed to have scored 362 in the 2023 UTME and was awarded a N3m scholarship by Chief (Dr.) Innocent Chukwuma. She was even set to be honoured by the Anambra State Government when one of its top officials put a call through to JAMB to confirm her claim, only for the Board to reveal that Miss Ejikeme Joy Mmesoma had actually scored 249 and not the 362 she claimed. She had manipulated her UTME result to deceive the public to fraudulently obtain scholarships and other recognitions.” The statement further noted that the board is aware of another instance of fraudulent behaviour involving a candidate who falsely asserted to have obtained an aggregate score of 380 in the 2023 UTME. Punishment for highest scoring Anambra UTME student, others who faked UTME result “We commended the likes of Dr. Innocent Chukwuma and wish to encourage other Nigerians, who desire to invest in the future of genuine youngsters, never to be discouraged but to always ensure that they get the authentic results from the Board as done by the Anambra State Ministry of Education; otherwise they will be celebrating criminality as this is just another new fraudulent method in town. “However, these candidates only succeed in manipulating what they are holding, as the authentic results are with the Board and would be transmitted to their schools of choice at the appropriate time. “It is to be noted that Miss Mmesoma had sent a message to the Board’s platform to request her UTME result, after which she manually inflated her scores and pasted same on the 2022 UTME result sheet. Unknown to her, the Board had changed the design of the 2023 UTME result sheet. Her original result remains 249, as nothing can change that. With this her ignoble act, Miss Mmesoma would be prosecuted and her original result withdrawn. This is not all, as the Board would, in due course, investigate all candidates laying claims to higher scores than they actually obtained. Once discovered, such candidates’ original results would be withdrawn forthwith, and they would be handed over to relevant security agencies for prosecution.”
