Mohbad’s cousin opens up on allegations of breaking singer’s neck

The late Nigerian musician Mohbad‘s cousin has come forward to reveal the reason for the singer’s neck being twisted inside his coffin. His cousin Darosha Losobeh opposes breaking the deceased’s neck. A widely circulated video purportedly showed Losobeh breaking Mohbad’s neck to make room for him in the coffin when he was buried. Darosha claimed to have paid for the coffin and ambulance on his own and that he was unaware that the coffin was too tiny to contain Mohbad’s remains. That I broke my brother’s neck, seriously, this hurt me so much. “What happened about the neck was that when we got to Ikorodu, we were told there was no space to keep his body at the mortuary, and we didn’t want him buried that night. So, a worker there advised the family to pay for an ambulance and a coffin where we could keep him until morning, and the same ambulance would drive him down to the place of burial. The whole family agreed to the idea because the ambulance that took us to Ikorodu was complaining that they had to leave the same night back to the island. Controversial Twitter influencer and critic, Daniel Regha has lashed out at singers who performed at Tinubu’s inauguration concert last night. The event, titled ‘RenewedHopeConcert’, was held at the MKO Abiola National Stadium in Abuja on Thursday night.

Veteran gospel singer, Buchi has disclosed that he doesn’t have any issue collaborating with secular singers.

Buchi said this while featuring as a panelist at the recent Eezee Global Gospel Music Conference. When asked if he would collaborate with a secular artiste, Buchi said; “My view may not be in line with popular views in the industry, but I will speak of my experience. Whatever my answer is, it is not a recommendation for another person. I will gladly collaborate with a secular artiste, though I know that the scripture says one must not be equally yoked with an unbeliever. However, I do not see it as a yoking of any kind. If a secular artiste is not vulgar, supports a sane society, and is against rape, violence and other vices (I can work with the person). “If the artiste has a reputation for order and proper conduct, and especially if the person has a good reggae ‘vibe’, I will sing with the person.”

Buchi further revealed that whenever he sings, his target audience are those who don’t come to church. He added; “I have realised that many times, we take the gospel to people who are already in church. In that case, one is not speaking to the right person, because I am called otherwise. Many times when I am writing songs, the picture I have is that of someone on the street who may never come to church. So, when they hear the song, they would have been exposed to the spirit of God, who is able to save them. Ninety per cent of the time, I sing for people on the streets, who are violent and addicted to drugs.”

Details on how Burna Boy’s police escorts shot married man after he kicked against singer’s advances on his wife surfaces

The Lagos State Police Commissioner’s Special Squad has detained five policemen attached to the singer, Damini Ogulu, aka Burna Boy, for shooting two fun-seekers— Irebami Lawrence and another identified simply as Tolu— at Club Cubana on Victoria Island, Lagos, on Wednesday.
According to a preliminary report by the Bar Beach Police Division, trouble started when the singer and five police escorts visited the nightclub around 4 am on June 8.

About four policemen waited outside while one of the policemen, identified as Inspector Ibrahim, who was in mufti, accompanied the Grammy-Award-winning artiste into the club.
According to multiple witness statements, the singer was in the VIP section with three women when he spotted another woman.
He was reported to have told Ibrahim to invite the woman to join him.
However, the lady’s husband was said to have lambasted the singer, insisting that it was disrespectful for any man to make advances on his wife.
After some minutes, Burna Boy reportedly made fresh advances at the woman.
This infuriated her husband further and his friends who had gathered at the club.
“As things were getting heated, Ibrahim brought out his service pistol and shot multiple times while Burna Boy was laughing,” said a senior policeman.
In the process, 27-year-old Lawrence was shot in the thigh while his friend, Tolu, was hit on the head by a bullet. This caused a commotion in the club.
It was learnt that Burna Boy and his crew then drove off to one of his properties at the Elegushi end of the Lekki-Epe Expressway before leaving for Lekki Phase 1.
“Aware of what he had done, Burna Boy took the next flight out without even informing the policemen. He only made a video call to inform them that he had travelled to Spain. All his police escorts have been arrested and are currently at the Command headquarters,” said a top source at the office of the Lagos State Commissioner of Police.
Sources close to the victims said the police were already making attempts to protect Burna Boy because of his status while the victims were treating their wounds at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja.
In a chat with Sunday Scoop, a brother to the victim, who identified himself only as Jide, said his brother had undergone surgery to remove the bullet lodged in his thigh.
Jide added that Irebami, who is based in the United States of America, arrived in Nigeria a week ago for a wedding.
He also berated the management of Club Cubana for not doing enough to forestall the situation, adding that the club management had not even reached out to the family since the incident occurred.
Attempts to get a response from Burna Boy’s manager, Mrs Bose Ogulu, who is also his mother, proved abortive as she neither responded to calls nor a text message on Saturday.
Similarly, Chioma Nwachukwu, a media consultant for Cubana, did not respond to calls on Saturday.
But the Spokesman for the Lagos State Police command, Benjamin Hundeyin, said the focus of the investigation was the policemen.
Hundeyin claimed that the police had not received any complaint from any victim.
