A Nigerian lady with Tiktok handle @Grandma Shasha has drawn attention to a staggering disparity in flight costs between Lagos and Cotonou routes to London. According to her TikTok video, it appears to be more cost-effective for Nigerian travelers to opt for flights from Cotonou, Benin Republic, to London rather than the more conventional Lagos-London route.

However, the same flight from Cotonou to London was priced at a significantly lower N374,000, making it a substantially cheaper alternative. In her words; “Traveling requires a lot of money and careful planning, after your visa is granted, your next stop is flight booking. Be a smart traveller. For me, it will be a lot easier to go to Cotonou and board the flight since it is visa-free.” Interestingly, a recent analysis conducted by Business Day Newspaper has supported Grandma Shasha’s claims. Part of the analysis reads; “A flight from South Africa to London or Istanbul, despite the long distance, has always been cheaper than flights from Lagos to London or Istanbul, on the same airline and same date. A Nigerian man, known as Faka of the West, recently took to his social media page to share the details of a conversation between himself and a lady he recently met, having treated her to food five times. According to him, they had met not too long ago, and since then, he had bought her food on five separate occasions.

Although the man did not reveal his face, he explained that the lady declined his invitation to visit his place, citing their recent acquaintance. However, she had no problem about asking him for various things, seemingly forgetting that they had only recently met. The man posted screenshots of their conversation on his Twitter page, which caught the attention of concerned Nigerians. Toffolo charged with breaching FA betting rules 375 times

Nottingham Forest defender, Harry Toffolo, was on Wednesday, July 12, charged with breaching English FA betting rules 375 times. Governor Samuel Ortom has alleged that some persons he described as “terrorist Fulanis” tried to assassinate him seven times while governing Benue state. Ortom who made the allegation in an interview with Vanguard, said the attempt on his life was made in his 8-year tenure as Governor of Benue state.

I’ve been here on a divine mandate because I saw that I would be governor in 1992 when I was local government chairman. I proclaimed it and told everyone that cared to listen to me and it came to pass and although it came through a very turbulent situation of time. Even in 2015 it was not easy but by the grace of God, I made it. To further confirm that it is a divine mandate, in 2017, I chose that I would not contest for a second term, that I would finish my first term and by the grace of God leave for another person but God’s divine arrangement was not what I thought. “God told me he was not done with me that I would contest and win. And I proclaimed it to the people, I told them it was more turbulent than 2015. Famous Afrobeat singer, Davido recounts how his billionaire father, Chief Adedeji Adeleke, had him arrested by police multiple times in the early stages of his career.

Davido made this known during a recent appearance on the Ebro in the Morning Show on Hot 97FM in New York City. The singer, who goes by the nickname ‘Omo Baba Olowo’, explained that his father initially disapproved of his choice to pursue music and instead urged him to prioritize his education.

He revealed that his father would frequently send police officers to apprehend him and disrupt his performances at various events.
