While the investigation is on, De Zerbi is not the first manager to express discontent with match referees. Recall that Mikel Arteta, after Arsenal’s defeat to Newcastle, called officials a “disgrace” and “embarrassing.” Chelsea’s Mauricio Pochettino also apologized to referees for his reaction in the 4-4 draw with Manchester City on Sunday.
