Popular businessman, Cubana Chief Priest has pledged to sponsor Yusuf Alabi, the boy who stood in front of Peter Obi’s convoy, through university.

It would be recall that the iconic photo had gone viral and received lots of commendations and rewards from notable Nigerians. Cubana Chief Priest revealed that the boy had dropped out of school to do menial jobs.

He promised to change the little boy’s life for good and vowed that his education would be sponsored till he graduates from the university. Cubana Chief Priest wrote: “Yusuf’s life will never be the same again, he has received so much that will take his family & him out of the trenches. Dude dropped out of school in JSS 2 to push truck & do offloading jobs so I’m sending him back to school where he belongs till the end of his Tertiary Institution. Obidients, you guys are champions, you guys made me a nobody somebody, you guys made the poor rich. You guys are really the change we are talking about. On election day let’s go out to vote and also protect our votes so we can perfect all that we started. Thanks to everyone who sent Yusuf money. Money will never lack from wherever it came from. About eight Madonna University students have reportedly died in a fatal accident while on their way to Taraba State.

According to reports gathered the incident happened on Saturday, February 18th, 2023. The students were said to have been sent home in the wake of the upcoming general elections. A source who shared the information reports that the accident happened at TTC/Special Science school junction along the trans-Saharan road, Abakaliki, Ebonyi state. The bus conveying the students was said to have caught a fight and got burnt beyond recognition. After the accident, eight have been reported dead while ten students have reportedly survived and were rushed to the Alex Ekwueme Teaching Hospital Hospital in Ebonyi State. One of the parents of the deceased took to his page to express pain over the loss of his daughter. He wrote; “Grace Usman Ezra, I never knew sending you to Madonna university will lead to your untimely dead.18 of you left Madonna to jalingo yesterday only to hear the news that your bus had an accident and caught fire,8 out of 18 came out from the bus. It is well with 10 of you and the rest that are alive,I pray for your speedy recovery and my God comfort us all that lost our children.”

The vice-chancellor of the university, Christian Anieke gave the order on Tuesday, January 10. According to him, the move became paramount in order to check indecent dressing among students. Annie said this while addressing staff and students of the institution as they returned from Christmas and New Year breaks, the News Agency of Nigeria reports. “No student is expected to wear slippers, rugged jeans, coloured hair, long fingers, fez caps, or artificial eyelashes,” he directed. Mr. Anieke regretted that most students and staff wear t-shirts with unauthorized inscriptions, contrary to the school’s dress code, and ordered male students to comb their hair properly or shave
it.

A young man has celebrated his mother who graduated from the university after she dropped out from school 20 years ago to take care of him.
The man who goes by the name Njikah on Twitter revealed that his mother who recently defended her degree had dropped out in 2002 to bring him up.

He praised his mum’s sacrifice and declared that mother’s are the best.
@Njikah revealed that his mum graduated with a higher CGPA than he did.
He wrote:

Popular singer, Stanley Omah Didia, better known as Omah Lay has revealed why he dropped out of school barely 6 months after being admitted.
The 25-year-old crooner in an interview noted that while he was in school he was also learning music production and was in dire need of finance for school.
Omah Lay who seemingly had a passion for music production disclosed that he had to drop out of school both for financial reasons and to create time for music production.
He went on to state that he initially planned on going back to school but things took a different turn and he hasn’t been able to return to the classroom up till this point.
He said:
“I was in the university for like half a year, and I stopped. I just dropped out. Yeah, it was a hard choice to make because at that time I was just learning music production and I needed financing for school. I needed time for music production.”
“Somehow, I just loved music production so much I could let go of school for music production. I felt like maybe sometime I will come back but when I got really deep into music production, I didn’t go back to school, and I didn’t even have the time.”
“At some point, it felt like a wrong choice, but then, things started clicking, I started making beats that I love, that people wow. I started writing songs for people and people didn’t believe that that was me, and I just kept doing it until I found myself in Germany right now. I’m here right now, I’m doing this interview right now.”

Popular comedian, Seyi Law has commended his wife as she receives a degree from Coventry University, UK.
The comedian’s wife, Mercy Stacy Ebere recently received a Bachelor of Arts BA (Hons) from Coventry University despite the numerous challenges she had to face.

Celebrating his wife’s graduation, Seyi Law revealed that his wife had lost her five months pregnancy and had to defer for a year; gave birth to another child and still graduated with honours.

In his words;
“Yesterday, she walked the aisle as a GRADUATE. She weathered the storm and survived. She lost a 5 month pregnancy, deferred for a year, birthed another child, took care of two children and successfully bagged BA (Hons) from the prestigious COVENTRY UNIVERSITY, UK. Congratulations to my wife, Mercy Stacy Ebere CHAM. God stepped in and you stopped out in style. Proud Husband here”.

It appears that the controversy surrounding Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s claim that he graduated from Chicago State University in the United States may finally come to an end following a response from the institution.
The PUNCH’s editor, Eniola Akinkuotu, had on Saturday directed Nigerians who expressed doubts over Tinubu’s claim, to contact the school via its website for verification.
On Twitter, he wrote: “It’s easy to verify if Bola Ahmed Tinubu attended Chicago State University. Just go to website of the school: get email of the records office.Send an inquiry. It’s free. You don’t even need to be a journalist. This is for those who genuinely seek the truth.”

A few moments later, Eniola shared a response he got from Chicago State University some months ago, confirming Tinubu as its ex-student.

The controversy came after Tinubu reportedly told the Independent National Electoral commission, INEC, that he didn’t attend primary and secondary schools, and that every other certificates he acquired were stolen by unknown soldiers.
In an affidavit which was submitted to INEC and cited by Peoples Gazette, Tinubu claimed that although he didn’t attend primary and secondary schools, he had two degrees from two American universities which were later stolen.
The submitted affidavit to INEC according to Peoples Gazette, was said to be part of his (Tinubu’s) eligibility filings for the 2023 presidential elections.

Speaking on his stolen certificates which stirred skepticism, Tinubu had said: “I went on self-exile from October 1994 to October 1998. When I returned I discovered that all my property, including qualifications and my certificates respect of paragraph three above, were looted by unknown persons.
“My house was a target of series of searches by various security agent the time the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria was forced to adjourn following the military takeover of government of 17th November 1993.
“I was the chairman of the Senate committee on appropriation, banking and finance. I was also a plaintiff in one of the two suits against the interim national government in 1993.
“I went on exile when it became clear to me that my life was in danger.”
