Haitian singer, rapper, and actor Wyclef Jean was reportedly accused of been a petrol station thief by Los Angeles police officers.
The 47-year-old rapper according to reports says he was in the studio with artiste T-Baby when the petrol station robbery took place and claims he was only stopped by the police because he was a black man in a bandana, which matched the identity of the robber.
He posted a video on social media, and he captioned it:
“LAPD another case of mistaken identity. Black man with red bandana robbed a gas station as I was in the studio working but im in handcuffs? “coming from the studio with T-Baby, y’all see the police have handcuffs on me, they just took off my Haitian bandana”. The LAPD (Los Angeles Police Department) have me in cuffs for absolutely nothing.”
According to reports, Officers are yet to respond to his video, or confirm he was arrested.
Wyclef is known for his hit songs “Killing me softly”, “Ready Or Not” “Diallo”, “Two Wrongs”, and has gotten awards for them.
