The agent of Christian Atsu, Nana Sechere, insists that the former Newcastle and Chelsea player is still missing following reports of being rescued alive from the aftermath of the 7.8 magnitude earthquake that struck Turkey and Syria on February 6, Monday.
It was earlier reported that the 31-year-old had been rescued after his voice was heard under the rubble of his home in Turkey on Tuesday. According to Hayatspork, the spokesman for the winger’s club, he was rushed to the hospital with undisclosed injuries after a miraculous rescue. But, a recent statement made by the player’s agent, Nana Sechere, has indicated that the player’s whereabouts are still unknown and unconfirmed.
“Following yesterday’s update from the club that Christian had been pulled out alive, we are yet to confirm Christian’s whereabouts. As you can imagine, this continues to be a devastating time for his family and we are doing everything we can to locate Christian,” he said in the statement via Twitter.
